  1. Hi everyone i'm new here and i have a dilema:

I have been looking at some starlets on ebay, pistonheads, autotrader etc. and I dont want to rush into it anything until I have found a decent starlet sr, (rushed into getting my first car and well it was a bit crap)

So im looking for white starlet sr's found one starlet but its a sportif 63,000miles, white very clean non-modified (i want to do it myself) he wants 1,100 for it.

I want to know what the difference between sportifs and sr's are because the power seems to be the same?

Is it worth waiting for an sr to come up that's decent.

    Cheers guys Danny.

Hi Danny, welcome to the club!

Well the SR has the Red/Green Decals obviously, 15" Speedline alloys, TTE Springs, TTE Spoiler, TTE Exhaust, Electric windows, Central locking, and I believe that's about it..

  2. Looks good mate, but I'd make the most of it by buying a less restrictive aluminium/steel pipe too instead of using the stock rubber one, and then sort it out with a cold feed too!

Haha I've got a K&N Panel filter but I think I'm tempted to get a cone myself now ^_^

The life expectancy is usually beyond the life of the vehicle if the quality of the filter is decent, they just need to be cleaned & oiled every few thousand miles..

Just found this, going really cheap!

  3. This has been covered quite a few times bud, try using the search option to take a look ^_^

I doubt there'll be a massive difference to be honest, unless the unbranded really are TERRIBLE quality, I wouldn't bother shelling out £30-40+ just for branded ones..

  4. My service and MOT is coming up in Nov/Dec...if i get it maybe after that, but then again my parents drive my car and if they get stopped by police....they'll b pretty angeryy lol......im not sure whether to get normal H4 bulbs (white), its around £10 and ill have the rest of the money to spend on pedals and gearnob...i have £60 to spend on something and my car is stock...maybe a RARB, what brand is the best and what thickness best for an N/A, and how much do they go for?

    Anup ;)

A Rear ARB is a must for all Starlet owners, I'm saving up for one at the moment ;)

Most popular brand is Whiteline bro, there's two types, non-adjustable and adjustable, and they start at £140 odd..

About the HIDs, I drove past and behind a couple of cop cars yesterday, and didn't have a problem, so I know that 8000K should be fine :)

They're not too dear and are a massive improvement, so I'd say go for it!

  5. Hey dude, I just fitted mine a few days ago, I love 'em ;)

Haven't seen any police yet so dunno about that, but haven't been flashed by other drivers even once, so alignment is pretty good! As for MOT, mine's due next year, I'll be removing them just in case it fails!

P.S. I went for 8000K because I prefer the "blueness" but also because 6000K are whiter, and hence would look like I just had my lights on full beam ;)

I recommend http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/ piece of piss to fit and a decent price! :)
