  1. After much umming and arring, head scratching and saving...I bit the bullet and bagged this little monster.

I parked up in the middle of nowhere to take the shots and a farmer appeared telling me to clear off lol.

You can't see the paintwork properly but it's black with silver flecks.

Asleep after a long days war.

She needs new engine mounts and the steering rack is leaking (and a few other bits are also weeping) but after an inspection by the TVR centre I got the green light ;)

First drive was the 60 miles home from North London and the JDPower exhaust sounds like world war 3 is going on when you lift off the throttle. It corners like a go kart and the brakes although a little vague stop you well.

  2. Agree on the X-Bow having seen a few driven by serious drivers getting stacked.

Never been a Caterham man, a friend of mine wants an R500 but even he is considering a Tamora. It's the practicality of it that stops cars like the Caterham etc.

  3. Jason you speak a lot of sense and that was my original thought with the Radical. But then I started to think about getting it on the road (8k) and the fact even a billiard smooth road would shatter my spine in minutes, then the thought I couldn't drive it to the Alps or Ring without taking years off my life.

It's interesting the suggestions coming back, it shows the age of the forum members also (not in a bad way)..a few years back I'd have gone for an Evo 5 or something similar but the Tamora with it's 3.6ltr straight 6, rarity and supercar killing power is very tempting.

Tell me this doesn't look sexual?

  4. Wow, you can tell this is a JDM forum.

I don't want Jap again as I've been there and done that, I don't want something you have to buy then turn into a good car...I want to simply buy a good car :)

RX-7 is infact 2.6 ltr or the rough equivelant. It's twin rotary so essentially each rotor is 1300cc in capacity. Don't fancy rebuilding one of those every 40k though....

  5. Evening all,

With the sale of the EP nearing completion, it's time to look more seriously for a replacement toy. I've narrowed it down to these 2 and although a substantial chunk of cash will be needed to secure one, they're both around the same price.

The Radical is bonkers, the end. It'd be unbeatable on a track (something I hardly ever do). On the road it would be comedy but may be too much. Think parking it up somewhere or meeting a bumpy road/speed hump.

The TVR would suit track and road, but would be more expensive to run and not as 'special' (I can only say that when comparing it to a road legal SR4, less than 5 in the UK).

What do you think? is there something else?

I dont' want a Cockster or Elise or BMW...but something without a roof! It's got to be an event with every journey (mostly a broken down event in a Trevor)

    :)

  6. Turnkey Ultima's are around 45 k+ that's a little too much I think.

I want something cheap to maintain, silly performance and with sequential gears out of the box (hence the bike engine route). I'll try and track down an SR4 Radical. Radical made these as road legal so getting a track version should be easier to put on the road.

  7. You say all the right things Si...

True the trackstar will live on in other awesome EP's. My one regret is not finishing it and hammering it to death on a track.

I have my eye on a Radical Clubsport or an SR4 if I can find one....the fun bit is going to be making it road legal.
