  1. Yup I've liked these for a long time too, very understated package.

Ofcourse I still have the matt black GT...and the Jag (which the wife now has as the Glanza went). The GT is taking a back seat at the moment as it needs about 800 quid of fueling and mapping doing and at the moment, with the shit weather...I just can't be arsed :D

It's funny but Scenics/Caldins/Zafira/Spaz Bus etc etc I would NEVER buy...because they're utter shite and are sold by praying on a new families worry that they need safe/practical/room and all that crap. The r32 has all of that plus I can take it round the 'ring when I drop the family off in Holland.

Merel (wife) shares my views happily on the people carrier thing. I think it's the saddest thing in the world when you see adverts for awesome much loved cars that are being sold 'baby forces sale' I just think why??

  2. Some better pics, trying to show the colour..

See...it also has good mpg. I managed 32.4mpg on the motorway on the way home from the garage...when you floor it though it goes into minus numbers.

Plan is to leave it standard, enjoy it..maybe some rims at some point, BDC CDA...Miltek, remap :D

  3. The rules from the wife were simple...it had to have 5 doors, it had to be safe and had to be reliable.

I think next time she'll think of a few more rules like 'mpg' and 'less than 200hp' when we look at family cars :D

I know these aren't to everyone's taste (mainly because they've never driven one) but I've fancied one of these since the 2002 motor show in Birmingham. Picked it up today at a cost of 10k. Not bad for a 1 owner, full history car with 59k on the clock in indigo blue (only 59 made). So far it's rather good fun with the ESP in the wet, feeling the car kick out at a roundabout, ESP trying to save it, kicking it out again...I hasten to add that Maya is NOT in the car when I do this :D

  4. To be honest my whole world has been put on its head. Going from thinking about whether I wanted kids etc to being wrapped round her tiny finger :D

The new family car will provide some fun (more details soon..nothing too impressive) but I'm hoping to hang up the spanners a bit when the EP is back and finished off. I'm finding less and less time these days to do anything at all, no idea how I found the time to do what I did on it already!

  5. Born sunday night at 6.58pm. As I type this, she's sleeping next to me, just over 1 day old.

For anyone with kids, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that seeing your child look at you with eyes viewing the world for the first time, touches you in a way you just can't describe :D For anyone about to have a child, it's true what they say...lifechanging from the first moment.

Mum is fine, I'm KNACKERED but loving this little person. Hopefully I'll be back with manly car things soon..grr etc.

  6. Cheers Si,

The first two shots (very boring) are the polypropelene door cards I've made to hide the big gaps where door lining used to be...me just being tidy.

I've wanted a bov on the car, not for any noise, couldn't give a toss about that, but as the boost goes up, especially if driven hard on the track I want to reduce lag and turbo wear.

  7. Sorry for the late late response...not been on here for a long time.

The EP is still off the road waiting for FPR, 044 pump, filter and lines. Then it should be good to drive.

The car is now around 700kg fully wet, if the power doesn't increase with the bigger injectors etc it's still over 350 per tonne.

The bodyworks rear wing is great fun but a bit heavy...I paid a fair few quid to get it here.

More update soon when I get a version of Photoplop to mod the images in.

  8. Evening all,

Just got back from this...bloody freezing. My wife, bless her bought us tickets yesterday morning! Good fun it was, Loeb beat Coulthard to take the title. Lots of petrol antics, my conclusing the KTM X-Bow is crap lol. Very very quiet car (but quick) with massive understeer on the twisties. Every race one got stacked...fair play, the barriers came off worst each time. Lewis was there swanning around in the SLR along with other crazy people doing insane car trickz.

    Piccies below.
