yeh i like the sound of it just not sure how much it would cost, would want decent sus,brakes,wheels and probably a cage dont know if id get that within budget

my dad had a scooby and done a few track days in it theyr great in a straightline but he constantly complained about the brakes being poor and it didnt handle anywhere near as good as his nova track car he had a few years before.looking for something light weight being able to brake later and a more even weight dis would count more plus it be better lapping scoobies in a sleeper.the nova he had was only a 1.6 8v but gave everything a run for its money 162whp the 8v number plates pissed a few people of aswell lol

wouldnt be looking at a scooby or the likes too expensive if it goes wrong,i feel id need to spend alot on a gt to get it to a suitable power level and the only thing that puts me off the 172 is that its a good bit newer so im guessing parts will be more expensive...than a nova, 205 etc. as you said charlie taht does look rather clean hadnt thought about xr2's not usually my cup of tea tbh but il mention it to dave. ste:how mush would you be looking at for a base car and an engine? thanks for the input

me and a mate are looking to get a track car for the summer just looking for some ideas from you guys on what to get.looking to spend at the most 2.5k weve came up with a nova valver, 1600 nova on 45's etc, a 205gti 106 gti or a 172 clio found a few for under 2k and a fair bit of power to start with. it wont have to be a complete track car just looking for something thats gonna give us some fun for the summer anyone got

heard all the same stories about ava if they cant set up a fpr n fcd i wouldnt trust them to map a car.why dont you get someone to do a road map?or as you say travel the distance to someone that has a good rep..

i dont think they do mapping themselves sure they only do road mapping and use people like andy forrest etc to do it

usually drill the crash bar and bolt it as you can see theres a bit on the top of the cooler where it screws on

im not sure if they share the same engine il check tho, depends how you look on it if you bought a golf your not gonna loose as much on it when you go to resell but youl get much more for your money with one of the seats.theres golf anni tdi's going for 7k+ with over 100k on the clock, and i doubt the golfs do anywhere near that mpg in the ibiza hes getting mid 60 around town and recorded 72 last week on the motorway, feels pretty quick tbh.

golf gttdi appeals to me the pd150 i wouldnt go with the anniversary they will still be over budget with rather high mileage even tho theres not a huge difference.a3's are nice but you will get alot more for your money if you go for a golf or the leon...what about a fabia vrs?or even a ibiza fr tdi my dad has one and its rather quick being a 130 and returns over 70mpg on the motorway

take the dumpvalve off and block the hole make a much louder noise i found.i dont think the bov would seal the whole properly give it a try and if its better you can get some blanking plugs on ebay that work a treat and will never come off or get sucked in lol

nope are they type c's? i think they look a little different where the spokes meet the rim is slightly diff from what i can see and the spoke seems to have an indent whereas mine are flat...
