hey guys.

had my clocks out yesterday to knock the milage back from kilometers to miles but i couldnt figure it out.

has anybody ever done this on their cars before? i had been led to belive it was pretty straight foward so i thought id have a go. got it all in pieces in 20 minutes but i spent an hour fuckin with it before i gave up because i was losing my temper lol.

so some pointers would be nice. you can pm me if you want to keep this off the forums.

seen a black starlet GT driving through loughborough town center on tuesday or wednesday night i think. by the KFC. i was stuck at the traffic lights, tried to chase after you but you had gone.

how do you turn up the boost on these little cars anyway???

i thought thermostatfirst of all. next time it does it ill check the heaters. didnt think the last couple of times.

good morning, ive noticed my temp. guage being rather erratic.

all of a sudden it will just hit stone cold.

i cant see no pattern forming when its doing it...like when im raggin it, when im driving normally etc. it seems to do it randomly.

possible coolant temp. sensor?

nah only kiddin, what i would do is buy one that is for sale on the forums because then you will know that its been brought into the uk and has been owned by a glanza enthusiast and they will have looked after it properly, like got any bad paintwork done, and torn trim repaired etc. in other words, they done all the hard work for you, thats all you gotta do is stump up the cash!

wednesday is gettin closer now and im very excited. i should be pickin it up around 8pm i think. ive also booked thursday and friday off work

found a atmospheric BOV on egay for much cheapness. it comes with all the pipework also.

so i think ill get one of them as i need to watch my pennies because my shoppin list for this car is gettin longer. think im gonna have to tap my father for a few shillings.

with regard to the subframes, i think ill try to fabricate something myself then. it shouldnt be too hard. and if i cant manage it ive got some friends that are pretty handy. im sure ill get something knocked up.

i dont really know what wheels they are, but what i do know is they are fúckin ugly!

ive just bought my starlet.

im pickin it up on wednesday. few little bits im not happy with. but you cant win them all.....

its on shít rims so they will be my first mod i reckon. and i got a nice pair of Corbeau Carrerra recliners sittin in my garage waiting to go in!

im actually down sizeing by buying this car as i currently drive a golf GTi, but it aint fast enough for me anymore. plus the tax and fuel consumption is killing me. i just cant justify spending that sort of money on a car i aint happy with.

with regards to whos importing it, i dont really want to name names. its unfair for it to be posted on a public forum.

to get it registered though your importer will have to put it back to standard to get it thru the SVA exam

hmm i didnt know about that either! but he has said it comes with all these mods so even if he does put it back to standard to pass it then he will be re-fitting it im sure. a quick look will tell me for sure anyway. and if its missin, the price comes down

one question...are these cars as quick as what people say? as i have such high hopes i dont want to be dissappointed!

the car im lookin at is being imported by a trader.

its a 1995 M reg starlet GT (turbo) in black. it has quad headlights, air con, abs p/s etc..

its on coilovers and has a stainless steel exhaust, and done 65,000 miles. i have seen pics of it and it looks a nice example, hence me going to see it lol.

hey everyone, this is my first post on here, just signed up.

im going to look at a starlet on saturday and my problem is i dont know the first thing about them! im going to look at it on their reputation alone.

so what im looking for is what common problems they get that i should look out for like ball joints, water leaks, where do they rust etc...you get the idea! lol

can anybody offer any information on this?
