Ive just spoken to a collegue about this as i work at a law firm. He said: IF there was anything wrong with the car that you didnt tell him about then he has a bit of an argument against you. We have had cases in the past where there has been people who this has happened to and they won due to the dangerous nature of the faults. Usually you have to point out anything wrong with the car BUT There are plenty of ways he could have spotted any faults. Firstly a good test drive would have found them which is what you should do as a rule anyway when your buying a privatly sold car. He could have given the car a good check over which again as a rule you should do. He could have also got a mechanic to check over the car plus there are many services like an RAC inspection you can have on cars you are buying. If you didnt tell him that there was something wrong you argument could have been he didnt ask.The car passing its MOT just over a week before is also a good point as that is a recognised certificate saying its road worthy. Usually on an MOT test they would tell you if anything was wrong. This is very true Sparky. He has left a considerable gap of time to come back and complain. Like you said he could have been ragging it a lot. Its an old car that doesnt have a warrenty so he cant rag it and expect replacement parts or his money back. The most important thing is that he didn't test drive the car and it was sold as seen. Any faults could have been picked up in a test drive and a good look over. What are all the problems he has listed?

That looks an ace car. Personally id have it in black or red but apart from that id leave the outside the same. Engine looks like it could do with a buff up though. The engine may not look perfect but i bet it runs perfect.

Right ive not been on here for over a week as ive been quite busy. An update on this conversion is that Im pretty close to ordering an engine from japan, but ive found one in the UK that is in a GT that has had a bump. The engine is running at over 160 but id would like to hear a few opinions. How much needs doing is the main question? Also my mate who some of you may have seen at the Yorkshire meet is buying a starlet and doing a conversion like me so we are desperate for two engines now.

I do think that the Toyos are very good but the eagle F1's seem to have the edge. They perform well in all conditions whereas i personally found the Toyos lost a little bit of grip in the wet but the F1's are very grippy. I wouldnt touch yokohamas ever again after a small spinning incident on a roudabout. Talking of dark horses ive heard the the new dunlop range is very good.I dont know if this is true so i cant comment. Tyres really are the base of good handling. You can have the best setup in the world but if your tyres are shite then it means nothin. Ive got standard SR shocks and springs but my car handle extremly well due to the fantastic tyres. Everyone has different tastes in tyres so you have to really test them yourself to see what you like

I was so anoyed with myself. My mum was in the car an she was laughing her head off. It was a screw in the back of the bench and it went straight in. No problem. It wasnt in use anyway. I like clean engine bays.It shows that the car has been looked after.Im obsessed with the car being clean.Ive always wanted a black car but now ive realised they are a pain to keep clean.Still love it though.

Will do tonight. He has had to charge the camera up. He has now been converted to a starlet lover aswell!! He will be getting one either this month or next month. He really wants a silver one on ebay but i dont think he can get the dosh yet. Ive seen some of the video he got though and it looks cool. He wants your enine Gee if you change it!!!!
-
Thanks. There is a few more bits ive got to get clean but apart from that its looking good. Well that was the reason i was going to eventually change it but if you look on the left hand side of the bumper you can see a little hole.I reversed into a bench so i thought id sort the bumper out sooner than planned.

A small update on the SR. Ive been spending a lot of time cleaning up the engine bay as it had been neglected by the last owner. Ive buffed nearly every part of it. Also the airbox has been removed as it was useless with my induction kit on so ive given it to Idrees. Here is a pic of the engine bay. Next update is the rear bumper, which Idrees has sprayed up fo me. The job is excellent it just needs the laquer buffing up ive started but havent finished yet. Before After And here is just another piccy of it.
