  1. It's HKS and the bracket was on the wrong way round, This is how i received it so i bolted it straight on no question's asked and i was in a rush to get to work, Sittings perfectly now folks and the fuel cut seems okay.

Thanks for your input lads, micky you are the fuckin boy!

  2. I was just going to to reply to you Pm put seen you thread so thort id post in here lol

I just dont understand why you are still hiting fuel cut,I've just turned mine down today i was boosting at 1bar with standard mani and thats not good so i thort id turn it down to 0.8 i unwound it twice and its all good im booting 0.8 spot on it creeps to 0.9 at about 7.000rpm but i change gear befor then anyway

Thanks mick, Yea i'm bewildered mate, The adapter is literally only just threaded on and i'm still hitting fuel cut! I don't even know where to start!

  3. id say FCD mate cause i found on mine the fuel cut was coming in gradually really noticed a difference once i put the HKS FCD on

But surely i shouldnt need a FCD just yet, not untill i fit the decat atleast?

If the actuator is on the lowest setting, which if unwinding the actuator adapter does that, Then i must be getting a fair bit of boost creep from somewhere?, I could understand if the manifold/decat was on, But just a relocated filter + fmic?

  4. drive slow

    fcd

I don't particularly drive fast, I'd just prefer to know when i do occasionlly open her up that i'm not going to be shot back into my seat. u know?

I decided against fcd as they areshit, Rather save for management than fuck about with that risky stuff. Thanks though

  5. Righteo folks,

My glanza has fmic + relocated air filter + bov + HKs adjustable actuator..

I fitted the actuator last week in a hurry and hit fuel cut on the way to work, 'Thats okay, i'll just adjust it when i get a minute'

Today, i've had a second look and unwound the adapter which i believe is decreasing boost? right? Still, Hitting fuel cut.

So I've just been out again and the adapter is only just threaded, Only just biting on the thread of the actuator (enough to hold it tight when nut is tightened) So if i'm correct in thinking, The actuator is on the lowest boost possible and i'm STILL hitting fcd!!

My Boost gauge is in the post, but even with that installed surely if i'm hitting fuel cut, the gauge is just going to read upto 0.8/0.85 then stop when the engine hits fuel cut. So i cant find out what it's boosting at even when i install that..

Any idea's folks? it's doing my head in!

    Thankssssss

  6. Nice work matey :p when you come to do the manifold take the rad out its the best way to get to the bolts :) there should be a tap at the bottom of the rad to drain the water

Okay mate Thanks! When the manifold goes on is there a certain pattern to doing up the bolts? i,e criss crossing to avoid warping? =]

  7. Wheres the other goodies then? :)

all in good time sparks =]

Had the day off today so i set about removing the aircon! Not as bad as i thought it would be. Whilst i was there i fitted my relocation kit/Apexi filter and decided to re-align the fmic, man i forgot how much i hate it, bastard Intercooler piping!

Now just got to fit the Manifold/decat and Hks actuator

    =]

  8. its not the reliability, its the car you buy in the first place, if you buy a minter, look after it and you will have no issues, if you buy it from a Chav that boosts it up every single street, you can pretty much guarentee its going to have ALOT of issues.

I bought min year and a half ago, was in mint condition, the only thing that went on mine was rear shock absorbers, never ever had a single issue with it yet, touch wood.

this is the most reliable car I've ever had to be honest.

welcome to the site and good luck

    True that^^

I bought mine standard, I've had it for 8 months and all i've done is service it. Not one thing has gone wrong. I Warm her up and cool her down every time & i occasionly drive it hard but don't rag the tits off it =]

As said, One of the most reliable cars i've owned.

  9. Lol once you start spending it want stop  im finding my re-located air filter sound as fuck well better throttle response is unreal the actuator has made a diffrence aswell holds boost alot better through the rev range :D

as for your A/C it took me the hole of an our to get my A/C off and re-locate my air filter, so i dont take long at all

I'll definitely be listening to your wise words and removing mine when i get some time, I got so much to do!

Bumper off, Re-align the fmic and remove aircon, fit mani/decat, re-locate the filter!

    =]

  10. Some nice parts there buddy  you must of spent a good bit this month lol i gess you have decided you are geting rid of that A/C now lol

I May do mate, we'll see :D it'll prob be on of the last things i put on to be honest lol, Removing the air con sounds easy and i don't mind not having the aircon to use in the summer, but i just have no motivation to remove it lol!

I've certainly spent a fair bit this month, handing close to another 200 tonight lol!

How you finding your re-located air filter?

  11. Decided last minute Sunday to treck upto yeovil and pick up some parts which i need for extra power, After a few p & q's removing them in the dark, i finally got home with these :

    DSC00295.jpg

Sps Mani, Decat, Relocation kit + apexi filter + Hks FCD

After mucho research and a good chat with graeme i don't think i'll be using the FCD!

I'm off to pick up some other goodies tonight which i'll reveal soon =]

    Thanks

  12. i have a full custom exhaust fitted, adjustable fpr, getting a fmic fitted will this be sufficient, dont want to spenda fortune and go the route of management or will i need it anyway?:lol:

You'll need either FCD or New management, FCD is the cheaper way and a lot of people go down this route mate. With other supporting mods the FCD will be suitable to a certain bhp but inevitably for BIG power and you'll want to head new management and have it mapped etc, Maybe someone can verify what power's fine for the fcd (e.g 140-170) and a bhp figure which they'd reccomend new management for? (e.g 170+) =]

p.s the bhp figures are just an example, Dont go by them. Someone else will verify =]

  13. Ah you had it good there dale! good find.

I've asked alot of people who are keeping there ears peeled! Dont mind paying a fair bit for a decent sized safe lockup as its going to have his both cars & welder + other tools kept in! Will earn the rent back just from working on a few of my mates motors anyway i expect!

Going to check couple letting agents asap. Thanks for the heads up ste, dale.

  14. Evening folks, I'm looking into renting a unit to work on into the evenings with bit of warmth/shelter electricity!

The local council offer single car ones but there on little estate's + and you can barely get out of the car when you've driven in! Me and a mate are looking for one big enough to work on my V and his 2.1 austin mini.

    Where's best to look etc?

    Thanks
