  1. Mate, I spent my time disassembling electrical and electro-mechanical things like computers, printers, vcrs, DVD players and anything I could get my filthy hands on!

You make it sound like I will never learn anything ever again, but in reality, I've learnt a shed load and I haven't managed to even get the head off!

You seem to be offended at the fact that I may do well with this, and I think your trying to make it sound like nuclear science rather than mechanics. I understand that you've probably done this all of your life and some young gun, 21st century digital boy has come along with his forums and his PDFs and he's making a job that you would charge the world for cost a drop in the ocean

Surely it's only a few bolts holding some metal together?!? :) lol

  2. @ TheStarletGT - Thanks for your advice, but... If I don't do this I will never learn and will spend the rest of my life paying out ££££££££ for people to fix my cars! You gotta start somewhere and it's up to me if I have to/ need to spend a bit more money this one time, I will learn and pay less next time!

I have only seen a few posts from yourself on this forum, and you don't seem to have a great reputation which is the only thing I find funny as I thought your videos on YouTube where quite good... Maybe that's why this is in your eyes a disaster!

@ LukeH - I will be looking at drilling it out as a last resort, it sounds a bit risky! Lol thanks for turning TheStarletGT's negativity sideways and inserting it in his anal cavity!

@ birdmandan - I will be taking some pics on my journey, will put a little guide together when I get time :) "the noobs guide to the 4efte - with lots of help from everyone apart from TheStarletGT" :(

@ GTnomez - I was impatient and tried to remove it with a 6pt hex key! The first came out no problem but number two slipped... Then when the m9 spline tool arrived (from tm developments) it was too late and it was alread foo-barred!

@ RusselH - can you link me the book on here or in a pm? Sounds fandabbydosey!

@ ali_legend - you tell em booooiiii! Lol

  3. Oh shit cakes... I've rounded off One of the head bolts (even with the correct tool)! Please help before I go and fuck everything else up!

    What are my options here?

I thought to try and get someone to weld a shit socket onto it an do it that way?!?

    Any other ideas?

  4. just go on tm developments n buy one. dont wanna be strippin a headbolt. or use a spline key if u have one with the little end at the top and put a jack handle on the end of it. remember dont use that method to put them back on lol

just ordered one :/ well over priced though! lol

i got one out ok with a 6 sided thing but the second one doesnt wanna budge! it slipped once so i pulled out to prevent damaging it!

woulda struggled on the other ones because my 6pt thing was too short anyway.

how long do TM-D normally take to deliver?

  5. Got the bastards with a 10mm deep 6pt socket rather than the 12pt on I was using! :D

    Next problem...

Removed 1 headbolt with a 8mm 6pt hex socket but it's slipping on the second... Could do with a 12pt but dunno where to buy? Lol

  6. already struggling... cant get the cams out lol the silly rockercover mounting bolt things have a funny shaped head, so the 10mm is too big and just slips!

    pics are here...

Tempted to cut them and drill the buggers out lol

are they the same on the 4efe? if so i already have replacements!

  7. best of luck with it mate!

tools... hmm.. you will need alot of them... lol.

i got two socket sets... lol

this will be a good test of the "How To" Section!

i have alot of friends in the motor trade that have said theyd help out!

  8. Hi Peoples,

i purchased myself a 4EFTE at the weekend that had a poorly Head Gasket, and i am planning on rebuilding it as much as possible for the GT Turbo Shell i have!

this may sound crazy to anyone who knows me, but for those who dont... i have no mechanical experience at all! lol i will be doing it all in my garden shed and will be relying solely on friends, you folks and the internets to fix it!

so just to warn you, please expect alot of WTF is this part posts :)

Work is to commence this saturday morning, and i will be removing the head ready for skimming, as i have looked at a few guides and it doesnt look too hard! LOL

first question... What tools will i need?

    Regards,

    Nathan

  9. there all on a power trip... i was sat at some trafficlights in a smallish town on my way back from work, in my company car (standard audio system) with metallica - Enter Sandman playing on a volume of 40 (goes up to 45) when a PCSO comes up to the car and tells me to turn it down... i said pardon and turned it down to see what he said, and he repeated "i asked you to turn down the music as you are Disturbing the Peace!" at that point i cranked the volume back up to 45 and drove on as the lights went green!

he stood there shocked that i didnt give a shit and took my plates down... what can he do? he was some speccy matchstick twat that you could tell was a grass at school and and must have got bullied for it.

if i get a ticket or something, imma say he tried touching me in special places, so i had to drive off!
