Hi all, Around this time of year we get quite a few questions about experiencing difficult gearshifts in cold weather, so we thought you might find this useful. Using the incorrect viscosity gear oil in your car can make gear changes very difficult when the gearbox, and oil are cold. This is why we often don't recommend using thicker gear oils than the manufacturer specifies. Yes, 5w-30 is the closest to 10w-30 that is easily available, but you might find that a 30 is too thin and it could burn it off. Cheers Tim

The Motul 8100 X-Cess, Millers XFS, Shell Helix, Fuchs Supersyn and Mobil Super 3000 are good, cheaper alternatives. Hi If the engine was done in 2010 and has a full synthetic oil now, I'd say it's been run in. I'd stick with the Pro S, or go for another similar oil like the Gulf Competition, Millers CFS, Redline or Motul 300V. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40-engine-oil.aspx Cheers Tim

Hi Drew Sorry, looking at the time I posted, I might have been half asleep and thought I was replying to EP Bredrin. The MT90 is spot on for yours, can't fault it at all, but if you want Gulf, go for the non-LS version. Cheers Tim

Hi Drew The MT90 is probably going to be 100% fine, but the LSD may make it break down fairly quickly, so will need replacing quite often. Out of the Gulf and TRX, I'd go for the Gulf. Cheers Tim

Hi You need a 75w-90 for the gearbox and here are the ones we have. http://www.opieoils....673-75w-90.aspx If you want to go for the best, the Millers CRX 75w-90 NT, Motul Gear 300, Gulf Competition and Millers TRX are ideal for the gearbox.
