Thanks for the link..ver helpful So now it's between an apexi filter and the cheaper apiro.... Does the apiro give the car a nice sound? If so I'll think I'll go for one of these --> LINK Also what is the life expectancy of such filter?
-
Thanks for the replies Any pointers on what to look out for and what to avoid? I've read mixed opinions about Apiro filters on other threads, any comments on these filters? They're really cheap on ebay....I would like to know whether they're any good.

I'm thinking of replacing the standard airbox with a performance filter....first of all, i would like to ask whether it is worth spending a lot of money on this part? Also any brands you would recommend? Are the unbranded cone filters (like those found on ebay) any good? I was looking at the apexi filters however there is a huge gap in price between these and the aforementioned unbranded ones

I asked around locally about this engine....seems uk starlets are different In case anyone is interested there is some info on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_E_engine#2E

Thanks for the link mate. Yeah I could have found it had i looked harder....i'm still green here...still i apologise. I want to fit the bumper on a standard 1998 n/a. I mentioned the glanza fogs so I know my options Thanks for the offer mate but I am still undecided as whetehr I should do the remix bumper or a glanza conversion....checking out prices and so on. Also I live in Malta so I don't think it would be worth shipping
-
Can anyone pls post the part numbers of the Remix Bumper (complete with foglamps) and Grill? Also is anything else needed to replace the standard bumper (brackets screws etc) or can the one's off the standard bumper be used? Also can foglamps off a glanza be used?
-
Done...will take some pics tomorrow as I spent an hour in the car trying the thing out
-
What i really meant to ask was if it has a brake light (as with the original glanza spoiler)....if so you have to drill a hole in the tail gate for the wiring, however if it has no brake light some sealer and tape will do the trick Goodluck mate...keep us posted
-
Sealer and double sided tape. The double sided tape makes it easier since it holds it in place until the sealer sets. Also keep it in place with masking tape. What spoiler did you buy?

Lot's more work than I imagined....the older head unit is now out, but unfortunately the person who installed it had filed down the stereo surround part of the dash and the mount which is inside the dash was cut away, so the stereo was only fitting on the plastic surround of the dash board. Before I start connecting the new headunit and dealing with the damage the previous owner did (or the person who installed the headunit), I have to buy some sort of adapter....as the connectors from the new headunit do not fit that already in the car.....

Apologies for the delay with the pics....I'm going to sort out some stuff with the car before taking them...I'm sure they will be worth the wait

This car has forced me to reconsider the plans for my n/a

Shopped around today Bought a Pioneer DEH-2120UB model (http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/25/121/...20UB/index.html) Will try to fit it tomorrow

Any information on this engine? My car is a 1998 n/a....engine is 2e
-
Thanks for the help £50 is a second hand one....i didn't bother checking new as 99.9% it is much more expensive.
-
One further question To take out the stereo surround part of the dash...the plastic thingy, is it only a case of taking out two screws and pulling it out?
-
Thanks mate...I'll start shopping around this week and hopefully by the weekend I'll start working on it Will let you know how things work out. What I have in mind is a good head unit, two front speakers and two 4-way 6x9 speakers at the back (have to be 6x9 as there are already old ones in the parcel shelf...to change size I have to change the parcel shelf which to say the least is quite expensive here..rougly 50sterling)

I have a 1998 n/a with aftermarket stereo installed...it seems this stereo has been in the car for some years now and so I would like to change it. Is it difficult to change the stereo? Is there anything I should look out for when choosing the stereo unit? (espescially pioneers as that is the brand I would like) Also is there some sort of guide on how to fit a stereo on this website? (looked but couldn't find one).

Nice fish mate ...I own a couple of fishtanks myself....I keep oscars and angelfish
-
Come on...there must be others who know of other parts
-
If everyone chips in we will get the list.....just write what you parts from 'other cars' you fit on your car I'll start. Glanza wing spoiler fitted on n/a
-
That's exactly why I asked for someone to compile a list.....it would save most people loads of time I would have done it myself but as yet I am still a noob :harhar:
-
I'd imagine it's the same with the remix since it is also a starlet....
-
I've been reading around on the internet and I've read how parts from other cars fit on a starlet. One may mention corolla manifolds, laguna and civic splitters, glanza and remix body parts and so on. Is there anyone out there who could compile a list of parts from other cars which can fit on a normal starlet with little or no modifications?
-
I have some free time at the end of the week...I'll definately take some pictures. Car is totally standard apart from a set of alloys. How do you upload the pics?
