  1. first of all, nice car! oh wait...THATS MINE!

secondly, the search button will show u that this question is asked every few months and gets the exact same answers, so let me break it down for u...

    1. There are 2 of these in the WHOLE club

    2. No, neither of the two owners are prepared to "lend" their splitters for copying, it wont happen, so people should stop asking, they are rare and they will stay that way

    3. People should also stop asking to be top of the list if either Tony or I ever sell our splitters

    4. The last examples to be seen on the open market were attached to full cars for sale in northern ireland

your best bet is to go custom, something like a civic splitter, a Glanza front end conversion, an MS Designs kit or lip, or a laguna lip.

    simples.

    Phil.

That was harsh. A bit to blunt. You wanna hope I dont get ahold of one cuz it wont be rare for long.

  2. Wanted to show you all this.

I went to my local sainsburys on the 27th of June with my misses and she noticed this car. She said "why can you see the roof thought the side window" We went over and saw this...

After taking the photos above some other people came over and said it was falling ice (Probably off a plane). One guy said he was there and it made an intense whistling as falling and then smashed to bits as it hit the car.

In the photo looking straight on my car is the one you can only see the roof of. So that could of been nasty if I went shopping a bit earler.

Looks like we were not far after it happened as some ice still in boot and the floor was still wet.

  3. Im supprised no one has replied to this before now!!

Its hard to tell as not many of us have had a lot of expierience with the JDM n/a i think it would give some gains though!! As its a much beeter design in the matters of air flow!! it will prob give better mid range torque and better driveability but its hard to say for sure!! I think it would be definalt worth a try esp if you can pick one up cheap!

I dont think the different TB will make any difference to performance as they are both the same size!!

    Rob

Thank you for your reply. Your saying what i was thinking i just wanted to make sure.

I have one waiting to go on. Hope to try next weekend.

EDIT: Your in notts rob? I live in loughborough.

  4. Hi

Don't know if anyone really knows the answer to this question but i'll give it a try.

I have a JDM spec 100ps engine in my uk starlet sportif. To make the engine work with the UK ECU, due to ICV differences, the standard TB was mated to the JDM intake manifold. This surprisingly seems like a really good set up but not ideal.

I would like to know if people think the corolla manifold would be better with my set up? I think it will be better but i've heard people say that the most powerful version on this engine (the one i have) didnt use the corolla manifold anyway my reasoning for thinking it will be better is that the corolla manifold was not designed yet and if it was it might of found its way onto the most fowerful version??

    Any thought??

    thanks

    Gavin

  5. welcome to uksc dude :harhar:

why are you changing the inlet mani?

Its on standard smaller TB to make it work with the uk ECU (i am looking for JDM ECU so this can go to max power) and i had a thought that the corolla intake mani might be better with the smaller TB but now im not sure.

    what do you think?

  6. Hi

I thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. My name is Gavin, i'm 26 and I reside in the east mids. I have an acoustic engineering (sound insulation) and normal engineering background and as a hobby a mechanical background.

I have owned my Blurple Starlet Sportif for 4 years now. It has the 100ps JDM engine in it (the one with the pink injectors, different pas bracket and intake mani and stronger internal components).

She(gavriel) is getting fitted, by myself new valve stem oil seals next week along with distributor car, rotor arm, loats of new seals and gaskets(cam, distributor, plug tubes, rocker cover etc ) plus a rolla mani. not sure if the rolla mani is gonna be better that the JDM one?? plus the JDM one has an original "16v EFI badge on it. lol

    anyway thats me

    Gav
