Are you meaning the 1.4 civic if so they are easy to come by and cheap but if you are meaning the ek9 type r then your looking at about 5500-6000 for a good one.
-
haha sweet he seemed to inspect the car thoroughly but he sniffed up and said im not even testing it as he could smell a fail on emissions
hahaha that is brilliant lucky git
-
hahaha that's wrong straight away buddy lol but if he doesn't do it you laughing

Hi all,
Anyone selling a Black Starlet GT? MK1, MK2 or MK3 not really fussed..
Thanks!
Aamir
There is quite a few on here and gumtree dude -
theres a forged gt just popped up on ebay, but he wants £5000 for it, dont know if thats reasonable for gt?
This GT is really nice and I have seen it up for sale for quite some time.
-
bargain him down mate if you do go for it, should be forged for 5k money
The guy has set his limit he wont drop it that much to be honest. Unless you show him you can find better for cheaper then maybe.
-
yeah you will get a lot for your money and you might also even get a forge lump in there keep your eye out buddy take your time don't rush.
-
i have seen that one does look really nice i just dont fancy a white car again, looking at GTs now aswell
Me personally mate I will only go for a GT, Glanzas don't do it for me to be honest you cant beat a really nice looking GT . There are 2 on gumtree both with tomz kits going cheap and engine wise standard. With that you can do a lot with it and make it your own and with that you know what has been done with it.
-
Unfortunately it wasn't had a few problems probably not worth anymore than £2500 just a heads up if anyone else is planning on viewing it
Well done for not buying it then buddy. You will find one it might take a little while but you will.
With the money that you was going to spend on that Glanza you would find one with a lot more goods and power. Abbott has one for sale that look really good have a word with him if you can. You should have seen his GT was the bollocks

Most probably something to do with the the turbo being twin scroll mate. Racetech not what they are on about. The car is nice and clean but depends what you want from a car. You could buy a cheaper glanza and build it up yourself for cheaper. This turbo kit is a bit ott in my opinion to run on a standard engine.
Do a bit of reading around and research before picking a glanza mate. My biggest regret. If you dont know much about the cars wait till you do before you buy one
I was thinking the same. I have been without a starlet for a few year but keep my head in the game with what is out there and what you can get and Ollie is right you could get a glanza and build it up with a bigger turbo and make it your own for cheaper than this. The thing I am consigned about is that is a lovely turbo kit don't get me wrong but it is a fair amount over the top for a standard engine. If you put anymore power in there it will more than likely go pop. That is a turbo you would wont on a forge engine not standard.
If it was me then I would keep looking but I would go for a GT but again that is me lol . The biggest tip on buying one of these or any car of that matter like the guys have rightly said don't rush into it listen to you gut don't fall in love with it check it fully over and if you have any doubt even 1% the walk away and read up and go back another day. I have learned the hard way with a Leon cupra R and it cost me £1000s and lost £1000s when I sold it.
Listen to you head not you heart
Good luck

Indeed. Cars 96 onwards have a 3000rpm test whereas cars 92-95 only have idle test
didn't know that mate.
-
I know that cars 1992 and under don't have an emissions test.
-
Hello All,
I have been looking on the threads and what not seeing what people are running HP wise and what mods. I have noticed that everyone pretty much is running a Decat to get the good power but how are you getting through the MOT with the decat as it would fail the emissions.

There's some GT seats going for sale on ebay at the moment in Swansea. It's the full interior though and I wouldn't know if they're Mk1 or not I'm afraid.
Thanks buddy they are MK2 seats after the very retro MK1 seats .

Yeah sounds epic! haha brutal machine.
Yeah Sam can have an engine out in a few hours but it will take me a lot longer this time as i've not done it start to finish on my own but it will get there, in the mean time i will spray as many parts as i can!
I cant wait to take her down the santa pod strip and might even use the NOS that's if I don't shit myself first lol.
Well the panels that you have sprayed look pretty good considering you are not a professional sprayer. Will be interesting to see the final product.

That looks awesome i have a friend who would love that! haha
Well I had a few hours this weekend to start doing a few bits to this!
Started preparing to take the engine out. As I said, I want to do as much if not all of this myself. I will no doubt struggle a lot with a lot of the rough stuff like drive shafts and such but i want to give it a go as much as i can!
So i unbolted the passenger side bottom ball joint, took the split pin out of the end of the shaft and took the 30mm nut off with the windy gun and the shaft came out of the hub nice and easy. Drained engine oil and gearbox oil, enigine oil was thick black with plenty of metallic bits in but gearbox oil was like brand new didn't look as if it had ever been driven with.
power steering pump is off, loom unplugged barring the alternator and starter motor wires and the knock sensor. all coolant lines are off. speedo and throttle cable are off.
However, went to remove the drivers side shaft and the 30mm nut is not keen to budge at all. tried the windy gun but didn't want to over do it and bugger the nut. soaked it in gt85 so will have another go at a later date :/
So all that's left is gear cables and the drivers side shaft (and pop the shafts out of the box)
Also got a few more bits sprayed. got the other side skirt done, the side trims etc. Had to fill and leave the door trim panel because it was bonded on and when i pulled it off it flexed and rippled the paint, which then flaked off like a good un when i started to key it. will come right though I think.
Undersealed the sill too while the trim is off.
Will get some pics updloaded when i'm on my own computer but for now some reasonable progress!
Glad you like it she is a real beast and sounds amazing as you can hear in the video .
Sounds like you are doing a great job on the starlet keep it up

so that means shes gotta keep quiet and not mention anything? you make me laugh its a forum she can put what she wants. if someone has a bad experience with anyone
they can write about it if they want to. if someone has a great reputation it dont necessarily mean they are all that great. i found this out with tm developments.
Agreed

The problem you have in a way is these cars are bought and drove hard as they are cheap little pocket rockets. When you go look at it unless you know the guy or maybe seen It on here you don't really know how the car has been treated. You like to hope that it has been well kept and maintained to a high standard. My integra has no history as such but it was well maintained as I have all the receipts from the previous owner since he imported it into the uk. All the services he did which where only a few months apart different pieces replaced so I know this car was well looked after and I have carried it on. I would buy another car this way if it didn't have any garage history but had lots of paper work of parts bought like service items. The only thing that it would need as a must would be a cambelt done buy a garage that is the only thing that my Teg did get done at a garage.

if you are going to get one you are better off getting the 1.6 DOHC as other engines are not worth it.
