  1. No sure mate I got dibs you have loads
  2. How do you mean ticking time bomb what was wrong with it? I would go and have a look at the 2 tomz starlets on gumtree they both look interesting and in good nick
  3. seems like you need to buy one that has been well looked after not ragged to buggery. I think it is also worth looking into getting the engine rebuilt when you do buy one for piece of mind. By the sounds of things there are a lot of starlet here that are running high power on stock engines and going ok with the mods that the car requires to run it. As long as you use the correct stuff and don't rag the car day in and out then you will be fine. My Honda gets driven everyday to and from work but I don't give it beans everyday. To be honest it doesn't get driven hard that much at all only
  4. Like it sounds good to me well done Just had a look mate very impressive with no expense spared.
  5. What do you have on your engine to manage that boost safely? Is it a daily how often do you take her out?
  6. Now are we talking stock engine here or did you rebuild it with forge pistons and rods? What sort of power are you running. With the glanza did you buy it from a running car and put it straight in or did you also rebuild that?
  7. Are that is a shit sorry to hear that. Did you not go back to the mappers and get them to reimburse you for the engine? Regards to the Glanza I guess you ownly knew once the engine gave out?
  8. thanks mate. I am just seeing so many cases of engines giving out and jap cars go for ever lol. The chap that first bought my Starlet years ago told me after a couple of months he blew the engine then the gearbox then the turbo in the space of a month. But if it is down to whacking the boost up and not having the correct mods to help then understand able. I just don't want a car I cant rely on.
  9. Hello All, I am thinking of getting another starlet again in the future depending on finding a good MK1. The problem I have is I am reading a lot on people blowing there engines how is this happening as I don't want a car that is going to be unreliable and worried that my engine is going to give out on me. How long do these engines last? Nick
  10. I would be tempted mate but I don't have the space for it and I really want a MK1.
  11. no way sorry to hear that mate. Is it just the bottom end bearings that need doing?

    MK1 GT?

Hello All, I am getting more and more in the mind of getting another GT but currently testing the water. I have a Honda Integra Type R at the moment which is amazing I have to say. If I went back to a GT it would have to be a MK1 in good condition health with full standard interior as I loved it on my old one lol. I am testing the water really as I am still in to minds but wondered if anyone has one they are thinking of selling any time soon.
  14. Really sorry to hear that mate how much would it cost to slip another set of bottom end bearings in.
  15. I agree they are something out these little pocket rockers but sorry has to be a GT
  16. Everyone has to start somewhere but by the look of it your doing a good job. I want another starlet again but have my daily drive my Honda DC2 which I love plus I have a project car which is almost finished just getting the manifolds and custom exhaust made for it then done. Problem with projects is they cost a small fortune. I would only have a MK1 starlet if I got one again. Here is my project 1972 opel manta Drag car but street legal If you want to know what she is running click the link below http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v310/novashed/manta%20a%20series/98169EA
  17. I know the feeling mate I have a Honda DC2 1996 which I love but I am wanting a starlet so bad but I have a project car which is taking up my garage so no room for the starlet but want one badly lol
  18. im impressed looks like you have a love for the starlet lol good work
  19. Hello All, Been looking on the forum trying to see if there is a thread on the steps and how to rebuild one of these engine but no joy is there one? Nick
  20. strange I have noticed that when selling a starlet lots of people put glanza engine conversion which made me think there is a difference.
  21. Hello All, Stupid question but is there any difference between the 2? A mate of mine said there is but if you are looking at the engine on its own I cant really tell what could be? Thanks Nick
