Lol not stealing i get gifted:P Yet another update, Managed to grab myself a forge recirculation valve for bugger all from work, So got going ahead with modifying it to fit. With a combination of VW/Audi boost hosing (Sinful i know!!) And the standard bits, it all went in fine and the only difference was that i had to remove the breather pipe. Heres a few pics, Theres none of the hint of compressor surge it had before on the standard recirc valve, it holds boost better, picks up better and is a lot more metallic/ sharp sounding when it dumps! WIN And also got a quick Q for you all, woul -
Forge recirculation valve on Glanza??
The Toffinator replied to The Toffinator's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Mint, anyways i got it for bugger all today thanks to my boss:D Should hopefully make an improvement in boosting and dumping at least! Had a quick skeg at fitting it, only difference is location of the vacuum nipple, and this one doesnt have an inlet for the rocker cover breather, so i can get rid of the pipes and clean it up a bit! -

Forge recirculation valve on Glanza??
The Toffinator replied to The Toffinator's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Yes the standard is a recirc valve, hence why i fancy replacing it with this stronger one:) And yeh i quite fancy one as i like the sound and its reliable, i only want the forge one as its come in on a car at work and its going cheap i think! -
As above, just had a mk4 golf with one of these on: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-1-8-T-Forge-FMDV008-Recirculation-Dump-Valve-/130558556165?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AGolf&hash=item1e65e57805#ht_563wt_1037 Similiar layout to the standard one, is there anything special about these that wont let me fit it to my car, or will it fit and work?? I know i will need to enlarge the hole for it to fit and mabye a bigger hose, but does it work the same way? Thanks!

need help identifying this turbo:)
The Toffinator replied to PhilGT93's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Its off the Ford mavericks, or terrano 2 2.7Turbo diesels phil -
2 screws in the side, unscrew these, there may be a 3rd for the airbag so have a look, this one doesnt come all the way out though it bottoms out on itself. Airbag should then pull off Then put the steering lock on, Undo the centre nut. Leave it screwed on a few threads, then rive at the wheel till it comes loose. Thats it!

Hahaha fair enough, and yeh im contemplating making a bigger toyota kit up, but by the time i refurb the calipers, fuck about machining stuff and spacing it all up etc the time and money i have spent i may as well buy some wms 4 pots!

Lol i know you wouldnt have noticed dude, usually importers that do it as they cba fixing the problem And i know its shit and i can brake faster than than an old ABS unit can stop me, but its that one chance i need to panic brake one day and i wont cadence brake, i will just stamp on the pedal and know it will do it for me!!
-
Yeh was considering this, why the fuck do people just remove the bulb instead of fixing it??? If i do a diagnostic will it flag the problem up you thin?

Just been practicing emergency stops in my glanza, and thought i would stamp on the pedal too see how well the ABS works, No abs kicked in, no light flickering on the dash etc to show it was working, it just locked up and slid. One thing i have noticed is the light is not on when i turn the ignition on, should it be? And if its not where should i start looking for faults?? Starting to wind me up a little bit...

Heat wrapping / Pros and Cons ?
The Toffinator replied to jakeep82's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Once usually mate. And jake they must have wrapped it in kitchen roll as the stuff i used wasnt affected by anything for well over a year. Snow/Mud etc. Never looked much different or came off! -

Would be a pain to do it on the car mate. I did my exhaust on the car and wish i didnt. i wont be this time around. I bought 30metres last time and i had loads left after doing my downpipe back. -

And i have always used textile technoligies stuff, the g-force wrap on my n/a. Going for the magmawrap on the glanza. Very highly tempertature rated http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Magmawrap-Exhaust-Wrap-50mm-x-1-5mm-x-30-Metres-/300646086435?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45ffe73723#ht_1499wt_1542 -

Heat wrapping / Pros and Cons ?
The Toffinator replied to jakeep82's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
Supposedly get better spool etc due to the increased velocity of exhaust gases, hot gases flow faster... Car will also be quieter inside and less "Droney" as there is less vibration. Downside are If not wrapped properly, hot spots can be created and parts can break, especially if cheap steel. I have personally never had a problem on an N/A, But turbo cars r are a lot hotter running, so make sure its good heatwrap!
