  2. Hi guys, Today is not a good day..... I'll explain, So the other day I was driving back from work when I came across a row of slow moving vehicles. In my ignorance I thought I'd overtake these cars a piece of cake and be on my merry way. I dropped her down a couple of cogs and gave her some sugar, I got about mid way past the cars when I felt a splutter but I kept my toe in, looked down and saw the engine management light. Little did I know at this point the car had boosted to 2.6 bar! I resorted to driving like a grandma and the very row of cars I had just overtaken, one by one, overtook me. So I limped her home, checked the fault and it came up with knock sensor so I changed that which solved the engine management problem. Started the car up took her for a spin still not realising the vac pipe had come off the wastegate, give her some beans and looks at my boost gauage straight away which popped round off the scale. I obviously limped her home again. I've started her up a few times since and shes lumpy on idle. I purchased a compression tester and it came up as, wait for it.... 45psi - 50 psi - 0 psi - 50 psi?? Either I'm retarded, the compression testers dodgey or my engine is seriously fucked??? I've done each cylinder a couple of times and even got third party help from my brother and we get the same results each time! Anywho, pretty sure my engines knackered. The spec is TF035 @1.1bar mapped on emanage blue. Been running a treat up until the other day and I think the boost pipe popped off whilst I was passing them cars and my boost controller (not currently connected to a solenoid) read a max of 2.6bar! Also the fault sensor thing confused me? And is it possible to get such low readings across all 4 and even a 0 on one of the cylinders??
  3. Hi guys, was having trouble with my boost controller when my car was getting remapped so bypassed it all together and it was mapped with vac straight from turbo to wastegate. Now my ebc is sorted i was wondering if i fit it, will i need a remap again as the turbo will spool up at slightly different times and behave differently or is this irrelevant? just that i vaguely remember the mapper saying not to fit the ebc? Will obvs have to fit a lower rated spring as well Thanks guys, dan
  4. Is this that gt box off ebay?
  5. Welcome mate
  6. Is everything in the pic included or is it bare engine?
  7. I changed the knock sensor and it solved it. Most of the time its the wire or the screen around the wire at fault. If you need some help pm me. But its still lumpy idle due to another issue im unsure on. Might have fucked my rings as my vac pipe came off my wastegate and it popped up to 2.6 bar. Oops!!

  10. Hi guys, I'm thinking of going forged in the very near future. These seems very cheap for scat rods, wossner pistons and acl bearings as a package Do people use the 8.5:1 compression pistons or the 9:1? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251684374147?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT cheers guys

  18. Hi guys, first of all I will give you a bit of background about the car and how the current problem arose. I recently fitted a wepr manifold with tf035 and external wastegate. This was mapped at racetech on emanage blue. Been running perfect for a few months now. I was on my way home from work last week and I gave the car some sugar past a row of cars, the car felt like it was missing slightly when passing the cars. I looked down to see my engine management light had just come on. I then drove a steady 50mph the remaining 5 miles home. I had noticed before this happened the car had just started to judder and splutter a bit when cold in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd until it hit boost and was fine. Also fine when warm on or off boost. It has always spluttered a tiny tiny bit in second off boost when cold but never really bothered me as it was hardly noticeable. Anywho.... Checked the fault code and its come up with code 52 knock sensor. Checked wiring, 0.2 ohm continuity between ecu and knock sensor, also 0.3 ohm between screen and earth on battery so all fine on the wiring. I now believe I may need a new knock sensor but I've cleared the code and it hasnt come back on whilst idling or past 3k rpm on the drive revving it up and down. But the car is very spluttery and smells of fuel from exhaust. Pulled the plugs out and they look a lot blacker compared to when I changed them approx 500 miles ago and one to my horror looks a little wet with oil. So I have a few questions if you could help me, 1) Could the knock sensor failing + 5 miles of driving cause the plugs to sut up (overfuel the car) 2) Could a completely different issue to the knock sensor cause the overfueling and does overfueling cause knock itself? 3) Does plug no. 4 (Standing at front of car and furthest cylinder to right) look like its got oil residue on it? 4) What do I do next? Thanks guys, Dan
