Well, Texa produce their own diagnostic equipment, and we at the UK software office (it's an Italian company), are responsible for making individual software systems for Ford JLR cars. So yeah, basically reads all parameters and does any settings and adjustment routines that may be on the ECU. Interesting stuff tbh. Just finished doing nearly all of the main ECU's for the new Transit Custom and Connect, so they should be winging their way onto the next Texa IDC4 release!
I used the texa kit for about 4 years. It was a great bit of kit to use. Was great on fiats and stuff like that but for a ford or a jag it was a big nope. Our kit won't do it. Havnt used it for 2 years odd now tho. Does it do KAM test now?

You know the day will come when you get another starlet and can't find another set of these to put on it. You will be kicking your self agin haha
If you sell them to me for half price you only have to pay half again to get them back
-
Have you had the miming belt off at all?
-
-
They look a bit like the celica twin pots. Some better pics would help tho
-
I'll just give you half the money for them

You running GT map sensor. And you should always set your timing before driving. You could be retarded!
-
Can always put them on the green one? They are 8j mother fuckers and light!

Squirt wd40 or the like on the fittings before undoing them. Cars are getting on a bit now and the fittings can rust on the steel hard lines. Make sure it's not twisting the hard line round as you undo the union. If it does work it back and forwards. That's the only real problem you might come across
-
Easy enough. Don't do the fitting up murder tight. You will have to bleed the whole brake system. Use dot 5.1 fluid. Pressurise the brake system after bleeding and check for leaks

I didn't bother asking what my car tested at Japfest. I was just happy it passed lol. I do have 2 centre boxes and a back box tho lol

I'm just going to cut the disc off and true it back up in the lathe. Then you will be left with a nice hub to mount a disc on. I started cutting the disc off but had no oxygen pressure. Will finish it later now I've got some more gas
that would be great man i have been doing research on bigger calipers with disks for the rears but got stuck on the al in 1 disk/hub combo ( starlet ) so i gave up on that 1

Cool
Show me what u got...
Also Is your oem bias/splitter on the firewall in proper condition ? It's a common problemen that they get stuck sludge up.
Did you test the brakes at the MOT ?
The oem valves working. I've had them come in at work with the bias valve blocked up. Makes the car pull well bad lol
We the other week my fan melted. So I fitted some new one.

The rpm wire for the tacho is a spade connector on the side of the diagnostic port with a little rubber cover over it.
-
Rpm signal comes from the igniter pack. Just reads the pulses off the negative side of the coil. The little connector on the side of the diag plug is the under bonnet rpm pick up. Not sure how the actual gauge works. It has a spinny thing tho
-
I'm sure I've got a good set of valves I could dig out for you
-
-
I will reveal all when I've got it all fitted and tested. I'm going to use vented discs tho lol

I'm going to test the brake weight on the rollers before and after the rear brake upgrade. Callipers turned up today....
Hey grant, What kind of brake's do you use at the front of the car. Im also looking for an upgrade. But discs on the rear doesnt do alot i think. 20% 30% ?? You want them to achive 40% 50 % ?
I had GT brakes on the front. But they didn't cut it for me. So stuck the wilwoods on. Now when you brake hard the back doesn't do a lot. Much better when you pull the hand brake on whilst braking. So going to fit larger discs to increase the effort. Then fit a bias adjuster if I need to dial it in better
-
I've started on a rear brake upgrade. The stock GT rear discs and callipers aren't doing it for me. I'm going fit a bias adjuster last if needed. So watch this space

Few bits to do. You can use the ep70 track rods and ends on the 82 hubs. That's what I'm running. With the fuel system you have a few options. Ditch all the oem stuff and fit a race cell with built in pump. Or fit an electronic lift pump that feeds a swirl tank then that feeds the high pressure injection pump. The 2 simplest ways of doing that.
Intercooler and rad fitting is fun! Not much room after engine and turbo kit are in!
In the fuse box you have a blanked off efi fuse space. Remove the blank and pop and female spade terminal in the back and you have a fuse efi power source that's what I wired my main efi relay up to.

Crack on you will love it! Such light cars what bits you got left to get?

Arch will be getting a blast back treated and painted soon. The chassis has never been welded so I want to keep it that way. Had it nearly a year so I should start touching up the body work.
The discs I'm going to use are 256x22mm so they are chunchier than stock turbo front discs lol but only 16mm larger that the stock 240mm turbo discs. The caliper pistons are 38mm compared to the 30.9 stock turbo rear caliper. Should have it all bolted on and running for next week
