To be honest mate its all down to the engine management and the map whether its good or not but if set up and mapped properly I would say yes they would handle that with no problems. Theres a guy on tgtt running 5efhe rods at 1.6 bar of boost without any prblems. Neil

I had this engine running on a td04 hybrid at 1bar of boost making 275bhp, is it capable of a lot more. It has covered approximately 8k miles. Spec; Forged 1.5 5efte 74.5mm Forged JE Pistons (have reciept for) 5efhe Rods Athena 1.4mm headgasket (Jan 2014) Arp headbolts (Jan 2014) Genuine Toyota Valve stem oil seals (Jan 2014) Acl bearings Full Toyota gasket kit Had new oil and water pump when built. New timing belt (Jan 2014) The engine is in good condition and runs a dream, I had the head rebuilt in January this year using genuine Toyota parts. The engine does use a small amount of oil but not much at all and nothing to worry about as im sure most engines use a little bit of oil. I would defo say high compression as I have had a 5e highcomp with td04 at 1 bar and made 275bhp easily and very reliable. Also very very lively off boost and spools the turbo up sooner, sounds better aswell in imo. Cheers Neil

You are correct sir, you wouldent know that the diff was there until you plant the foot down and it just grips!

Item For Sale: Starlet Gearbox With Quaife ATB Helical Diff Fitted Item Condition & Description: Very good condition, gearbox was painted by previous owner, this was done in a paint shop. Gearbox works as it should and accepts all gears without any problems, no crunches or bangs! New bearings were fitted in the gearbox when the diff was fitted. The diff works perfectly as it should, it is open under normal driving conditions and locks once you run some power through it, This means that parking and 3 point turns or any full lock steering is not a problem and there is no knocking, clunking or banging what so ever. This makes a huge improvement to the car, the diff just pulls you around the corners. The and diff comes with original lifetime warranty and paperwork. As you can see in the pictures there is a driveshaft coupling been left in the gearbox this is because it is rather stiff and I don't want to force it out incase I damage the diff so this has been left in and is in good condition so its just a case of putting your driveshaft into this.
