Thanks man! Appreciate it

Thanks guys. I'm happy you all approve
Although its far from done as it is at the moment – we just laid down the final color layer on the car. I love how the painter got it to get the really deep red out of the standard Super Red II paint.

Yep, really want to try this idea out. Supposedly the exhaust blowing through the diffuser should help suck the air underneath the car and creates more downforce.
-
Now that we've more or less made the car run reliably after the whole honda ECU transplant, I've had some time to think about improving the aero on the race car. After some research, I've come up with this idea to design a crude "blown" diffuser aero.
Basically its your standard solid wooden underbody that bolts into an aluminum rear diffuser but instead of having the exhaust exit where you'd normally have it, I was thinking maybe you can have it exit underneath and through the wooden diffuser blowing directly into the center channel and acting as a blown diffuser.
I know its probably a crapshot at best but its better than nothing. At the very least the solid underbody should give us extra downforce even if the blown diffuser turns out to be ineffective

Tried to get better shots of the paint job.
Also the guys have started to detail all the other small parts like the lights, steering wheel, other plastic parts etc...

Color coat!
Apologies for the low quality pics they were taken by the painter and sent to me. I'll try to get better shots when I drop by.

Base & guide coat done!

Thanks @maddox710! It's actually in pieces at the moment for easy access to the newly wired ECU.
We want to make sure everything is going smoothly with the honda ECU for a few more races and then we'll install the remaining panels up

Really happy with the car right now. Last weekend has been our fastest on this track (Batnagas Racing Circuit) ever. We have been struggling with this track ever since we started racing.
We've gotten a proper 3 bar map sensor finally working with the honda ECU and now running back on full boost (1 bar standard, 1.3 bar scramble). As a result I've smashed my personal best time by a whopping 3.5 seconds – from 2m8.333s to 2m4.836s.

Our particular modification route we chose hasn't been the easiest, but it was all worth it. We're still searching for a win this season, but the fact that we are getting faster is something to be happy about. We'll get there.

Thanks guys!
Dropped bye earlier and caught the shell getting primed

I like what you done with seats !
Thanks!

Love it, cant belive I've missed this? And dont shoot me but i actually really liked the trd livery
I would have kept it if it was original actually... But it was just some shitty paintjob done by the old owner. Also this is just going to be a street car.

Prepping the shell for paint! Finally!

The source link I posted is from toyota global so I'm pretty sure it's definitive.

I was looking for the meaning of "Glanza" on the net and stumbled onto this – and also this:
http://www.toyota-global.com/faq/vehicles/origin/0099/
Starlet Glanza
Glanza is created from the Italian word granz, meaning "to shine."
I guess it makes sense when you consider that the 2 other models in the 9 series were named "Carat" and "Reflet"
-
And everything comes together. LHD conversion is done! Off to paint!
Also brand new OEM top mount intercooler
Adding a little gold to help with heat soak
-
Does anyone have reference to this? The engine harness should be pretty straightforward to figure out but I need a dashboard/interior loom diagram to double check when we put my ep91 back together after paint... Thanks!
-
Sorry for the lack of updates the last few weeks we've been concentrating on getting the race car track ready. But anyway we've made a couple of new developments on the Glanza
Converted firewall done! We even made the steering column cowl to fit:)
Stock seats reupholstered.
Converting the aircon unit

@ali_legend yep you're right – but that's actually the tuner's personal box. When we get everything buttoned up and sorted out we'll burn the tune into a separate p28 box
Mindless' Glanza Street Car build - DONE!!! (for now...)

Thanks guys! Yeah the local painters are amazing, You'd be surprised that how good their work is even if they don't usually have access to paint booths and ovens.
I have no photo updates yet on the car, as they're getting ready to mount it on the body rotisserie so we can work on the under-chassis.
This though just arrived in the mail
