I have a glanza with a ep82 box, The gearbox whines a lot at low revs maybe on high But cannot hear it because of exhaust sound, The gearbox also jolts back and forth and for example I'm in 3rd gear doing around 60-70miles and I let off accelerator the speed will drop rapidly like I'm braking.. There is oil around the gearbox and the driveshaft inputs, I changed the seals around the box but it still leaks from there. Can the oil be because the diff is moving around a lot? Thanks

My 4e is idling rough.on.cold start and when i drive it feels like it got no power and when i put.my foot down on the acceleration pedal itll bog and not.pick up. Can.a dodgy Tps cause this or theres something else wrong with the car? From cold when i start the engine itll idle rough as though is got cams but once warmed up itll eventually fix it self but no power or any pedal response. Cheers

Only if 4e heads used a similar design to the b-series hondas we would of had a very easy time adjusting clearances.. Unfortunately

Cheers colin, can you show me or explain to me exactly where and what im doing wrong? Im using a 0-25mm micromter i put a picture of one thats similar to mine. And im using a feeler gauge from laser also put a picture of that, Are these the correct measuring tools? Thanks

Can i ask where you went to get them adjusted? Over here in London all the engineers are saying to me that i need to take my head off and send it to him for adjustment. How did you do it? Thanks

I think the gap is too loose, My cams have a few chips on the edges i dont know if they are very worn, Im away atm when i get back ill try get a few piks of the fitted cams and the 2sets of spares i got at home.

I got almost 32 buckets and close to 40 shims its just that i dont have time replacing them to find the right ones, so far ive taken off my cams like 3-4 times im fed up. Thanks

Yes it is. My head had no problems before the rebuild. I took the head off too clean it while the block was off to.getting forged rods n pistons fitted. When it was all back together it started tapping!. Everything clearance seems off to me..

I have made a table to show which shims need changing and with what size. I uploaded a picture can anyone tell me if the ones ive noted down are correct and out of spec too. Also should i round the required shim sizes to the nearest digit.? Thanks

I swapped them straight over the other day and it didn't.go.too well, I had to refit my old ones back on amd now when the engine is cold is has a slight misfire until its.warmed up. Timing is correct i double checked. Are these clearances correct for a 4efte? Intake: 0.006-0.010 Exhaust: 0.012-0.016 Also what shall i set them to? To the tightest spec? Or inbetween the two? Cheers. Will my valves (top of valve stem) cause any clearance issues if i swap the buckets straight? My forged 4efte is tapping and im going ahead and trying to swap the 4efe buckets and cams into.it to stop the tapping, as the 4efe had no tapping problem i think it should work. Thanks

Hello, Im breaking a starlet gi ep82 and ive taken the camshafts and the buckets with the shims, are the camshafts off a starlet gi same as turbo or its different? And if fitted on what will be the disadvantages? Thanks

Ive contacted turbosmart they are saying all the springs are different but im still gna try the tial springs, It should work hopefully.

Its all sorted, i put a race rocker cover and it solved the problem Thanks

Will the icv affect engine performance atall if plug was disconnected? Its doing.my head in.. Idling at 1200 for too long.

Im currently having problems with my tial wastegate holding boost. I have a spare spring here but i don't know if its for a.tial wastegate and i don't know what pressure it is. Im running stock ecu atm.

My forged 4efte engine is causing idle problems.. Ill wait until engine is warm and ill take it out for a drive around my area and at traffic lights when i stop the engine will be idling at 1200rpm and slowly takes its time dropping back to 900rpm. Why does the idle take long for it to lower back to stable engine idle? Any suggestions?? Thanks

It was my turbo, Water must of entered through the turbo intake and has done something to.the seals, Im back to a td04 for now until i get a rebuild.

I bought a glanza s gearbox to fit onto my glanza v, I want to know if this gearbox has the same ratios and internals as a uk starlet n/a. Thanks
