  1. I know of an mx5 with a side exhaust and they have metal plate riveted inside and outside of the exit. Maybe that would work to stop the bumper melting? It would also draw more attention to the exhaust if you go for a stainless or brushed effect.
  2. I saw this in Wales.... finally topical.

It's in his garage now. We bought it, ragged it around blyton and he fell in love with it. I only come on here to check what you are doing with your car. I stopped coming on when the whole UKSC thing kicked off, It is the first time I have logged in on 'O'.
  4. Now the fun really begins. Out of everything I did on my car I enjoyed (and hated) the tuning the most. Trying to get it to start in -10 before work was a complete bitch but when it's running right and your getting some reasonable fuel economy it is just soo satisfying. I am intrigued though, what was the badger incident?

After doing a few bits with Adz and then trying out my skills on smaller parts I had a go at a full respray and it was quite fun. I cheated though and used satin paint so it didnt need the lacquer but the paint job cost me £60. It was on a car I bought on ebay for £600 as a stop gap after that silver one. It had been cut back for a vinyl wrap as the paint was shit so It was just begging for it. (sorry still no starlets but you get the idea) When I got it it was a beat up old sorry silver. When I finished it was a lovely smooth satin white.

And it survived my super strong Karcher jetwash too .

I came across this and thought I would just give a little update on the bumper. The car did another 15k miles after the respray and despite it's rather low slung bumper it didn't suffer any stone chips at all. This was the last picture before I broke the car for parts. It is definitely down to the lacquer that made it look so good..... well that and the countless hours sanding the bloddy thing .
  8. I spotted you on Rainworth Bypass. I'm Adz's mate, I was in a silver mx5. I was out blasting the water off from washing the car and you tried to entice me into a race by slowing down and then speeding up. ;)
  9. Painter Dave in Deepcar is top shelf and not too far from you. />http://deepcarautobodies.co.uk/
  10. In those days it wasn't even about how low the ride height was it was how low your wing mirrors were
  11. They are surprisingly good aswell! Even better with a T-Shirt shoved in the bottom.
  12. The pictures were shot with a Canon 550D, Nothing fancy with the lighting just used the camera to make the most of what light was there. I have been up to Ikea a few times and not been kicked off once. Its just a case of going in small numbers, use a quiet area and don't make much noise. They obviously don't want a Starlet spitting flames and a supercharger screaming at their customers
