I just checked and listened to the throttle bidy area and noticed 2 things. Firstly the idle control valve doesnt click as loud as it used to. Secondly theres a hissing noise coming from round the throttle body. How can i check for leaks. Is there a special way? -

No boost leaks . Bov is stanard one. How do u check ignition timing. Does dis wen engine is warm. Wen cold its fine -

also da exhaust noise is not a constant rumble but a pop now and again which aint normal. caused by unconsistant rpm change at idle. -

ive cleaned the distribtuor and rotar arm, still same. also when idling the revs change between 0.3rpm and 1.2rpm. it does stay at one level. what ese could dis be. ????????? -
my idle speed is only an issue when the car isin traffic. the idle would go up and down between0.3rpm and 1.2 rpm. it wont stay a t one constant level. also da car is hestitant and judders when driven under 2000rpm. what could cause dis. ive cleaned the dristrubtor, new leads, spark plugs, cleaned idle control vave but still same.

not yet. got my spark plugs gaskets and rocker cover gasket. gonna change dem nd see. -
had this problem for a while now. changed spark plugs, battery and leads and still the same. when driving under or at 2000rpm its hesitant, jerky and shakes back and fourth. but over that its perfectly fine. what is causing this. i checked the spark plugs and found that 1 and 4 has oil around the thread not the tip. 2 and 3 are fine. cleaned the idle control valve to. stil the same. HELPPPPPPP

thanks mate. can i do this from the top of the car or do i have to lift it to get tot the bolts?

I changed both belts a year ago and one of them squeaks alittle when the engine has warmed up and is idling. its the one lower to the ground at the back. how do i tighten this. it stops wen i spray wd 40 so i know its that one. thanks

check if there is oil around the threads of the spark plugs mate. -

Mate u got the same prob as me. I changed my plugs nd ht leads still same. I hve noticed oil on 2 of the ugs so gonna chNge the gaskets in the rocker cover to see. It started put of the blue. I use heat range 6 iridium nd running stanadrd boost fmic decat nd aftermarket ecu. So will chNge ug seals nd see if that helps. -

had a look at me spart plugs and found that number 1 had alot of oil on the bit that screws into the cylinder i think they call it the thread and number 4 had a little. 3 and 4 were dry. wats causing this.

what heat range is best for standard boost and turbo? only mods are decat, ecu intercooler. thanks

i need an aftermarket exhaut system but not the whole system. just the piping that comes after the decat pipe. the midsection was uprated and so was the backbox and decat leaving just the front section which is thin and rusty.

thanks see it but everyone seems to be confused. so i want to get to basics. the pcv release air into the inlet manifold. so what does the breather do? does it suck in air or breath in air?
