  1. The car as it stands atm. Fitted new wheels as the tires are much better.

I am getting the car ready for nct "mot" and that has taken afew things I fitted all new pads around and will be getting good discs I have cleaned up and fitting them. I have to fit new rear calipers which I have. I also must fit a new drivers hub as the one on it is loose and will fail nct. I tidied up the engine bay wiring as afew wires were cut and rewired incorrectly like the lambda wired to oil pressure sender :/. I have all that sorted now. I fitted new tie rods also as the steering felt loose. The car is only boosting to .4 so I must inspect the waste gate. I have fitted new centre section and rear quarter cards as these were modified and looked crap haha. New spots have been fitted aswel. The car will be legal soon and I will hopefully use as a daily.

Plans for the future will be to repainted one or two panels. Tom's spoiler skirts and live sports front splitter or doobie.

Engine wise I will maybe build the 5e I have and td05 it and leave it at that :).

  2. Sounds like alternator alright. When car is running put multimeter onto battery and you should get 14.5v. If you don't see this then alternator is not charging. Your car will not go for a half hour on battery power alone. This is an easy replacement job to go at yourself. All you need is a 14 socket and spanner. 12 socket and pull out alternator plug. You might aswel get a new belt and reinstall. Only two bolts hold in the alternator:)

  3. On my mark2 GT after fitting new engine the clutch has been iffy after taking it on small spins. It will be fine, I would go for a 5minute drive and on the way back the gearbox would feel notchy and not smooth. I have drained the system of the old fluid, replaced the slave cylinder and bled the system numerous times. I can get gears but have to really put pressure on clutch pedal to get a gear. The clutch was an Oem Toyota clutch and pp with loads of life left and I put new oil in the gearbox. When pressing the clutch there is a weird ticking noise like something is gently tapping something inside the bell housing. Any suggestions tips will be a great help. Thanks

  4. It is in a small ecu holder left of the clutch pedal and will have a stuck on black film on top to cover it (if standard) no major bolts to remove only afew 10mm bolts. It comes out easy enough and there will be two plugs connected into it (3 plugs in some late 95 mark 3 models) hope this helps

  5. It would be pretty hard to figure out without a paint code, is it not in any reciepts or stickers anywhere?

I can see the original colour is black but this blue has a nice tone.

Ya it is very nice and makes the car. I will look more but I don't think I will find out. I will have to do something though as the bonnet is in very poor condition

  6. So basically I was going purchasing afew parts for my other build. When I arrived at the yard this starlet was up on the trailer just after being collected but also there was another crashed starlet there aswel which I was going to get parts off. This turquoise starlet was in good shape but had a massive knock in the big end and was parked up for awhile but all the car needed was some love so I liked the car knew by looking it was good, offered money and a deal was done :)

So the next day the car was dropped to my shed, I added fresh petrol put on plug leads started it after afew turns and the knock was like anything I have heard before. All I could compare it to was breaking concrete with a jackhammer. So then and there my buddy and I started to remove the engine and replace it as I had a spare 4e-fte in the shed. I transplanted everything from old to new the next day and the engine was then ready to reinstall. The following day with new oil and filter and having had Wd40 soak the cylinders for the night as the engine was thrown in a corner with one cylinder open to the elements which I never knew :/. Everything was in place, we primed the injectors, turned the engine by hand and cranked it afew times without spark to get oil flowing, put back on coil lead and low and behold she started and the engine sound great and runs perfectly :)

    Optional wiper speed stalk

Blitz short route inter cooler pipe with Blitz bov

Japspeed catback exhaust which is basically new.

    Ultra plug leads.

And a very decent Clifford alarm :)

Plans really are to NCT it and tax it.clean it up and enjoy it as I am over the moon with it :) anyone have suggestions on what the colour is as the car was originally black and sprayed this colour. It greeny blue but I think it's too blue for 746. Thanks for looking.
