  1. Ok so bit of an update done a compression test this morning to reveal 150 over all four cylinders when cold and throttle fully open so it's not cracked head or head gasket so I think next thing to try is water pump
  2. My boss seems to think my head is cracked so a compression test should reveal all lol He's just pissing in the wind tbh but he's normally bloody right grrr

  4. yeah cooled down when stationary jay and no I have aftermarket water temp gauge as well
  5. Not really sure why it would be hg though as head and block were skimmed block was decked as well and a new Athena 1.2 hg used but stranger things have happened

  9. yeah hoses getting hard mate, do you mean undo the cap after its been running r u serious ?
  10. yeah gonna do a compression test to eliminate all possibilitys as well but im edging towards water pump

  12. don't think it does, as I remember it had a little resistance I just thought that was normal as it needs to wear but guess not
  13. that's what im thinking, might be pumps struggling to push it round but no way to test it is there ?
  14. yeah mikey it does but what does that leave ??? fan works as it should new rad, new thermostat, new coolant, new water pump heater blows hot and cold fine ? im confused
  15. both hoses are getting hot yeah, the water pump I would say had resistance didn't spin freely
  16. ok checked heater its running hot on hot and cold on cold ???
  17. so I forged my engine and ive had numorous minor issues which all have been resolved, but i went for a spirited drive for about 15 mins tonight and started over heating shes had a new thermostat a new civic rad and fan plus new coolant. but when I built it I noticed that the new toyota water pump didn't seem to spin very freely I just put it down to being new but now im wondering if this is my problem I guess there could maybe be a little air still in the system anyone have any suggestions as im kinda scratching my head now
