  1. Yeah luckily have a spare from a mate the week before that had a ring failure. But it's pretty mint considering.
  2. Haha I've heard of worse tbh. Does this mean I get a medal/award? lol
  3. Here's a few pics after a closer look to the damage! And some minor damage to the valves The state of the crank. (and what's left of the Conrod cap etc) And on a lighter note! Some shiny stuff! Inlet (needs wet and dry then polish to look neater) Crank pulley. After a quick bead blast. Unsure if I should give it a lick of paint or not :/ Still working on the block and will have the head done too. As the valves are all out.
  4. The crank in that block is a bit bashed. Will post pics. The other block I'm using had a crank that was better condition. So overall out of the two engines I'm using the cylinder head and cams from the blown one and the bottom end from the other one. Valves are now removed getting it cleaned tomorrow but the block will be done tonight! Then need a honing tool and the block will be ready for the crank!
  5. Lol bloody money pits of things.... Oh well the enjoyment will be priceless tbh!
  6. Well that's the head stripped ready to get cleaned at my work and skimmed. Then I'll be getting the inlet/exhaust ports ported out and polished at a machine shop. Getting the block cleaned up at work tomorrow too! Will post shiney pictures when I'm done! Just need to work out what else to get done to the head as unsure if i'll need over sized valves etc to run the power I'm aiming for (300bhp mark!). Also getting the crank balanced and mirco polished etc at some point when I've got a wad of cash to throw at the car! Cannot wait to get this back on the road! So sick of the Honda. It's just not
  7. Will take reasonable offers or px for derv or starlet
  8. It was running pretty rich according to the wideband! Lol. Was just running stock ct9 at .85 bar but would creep pretty high. And I was driving pretty hard at the time. Also noticed some damage to the valves for cylinder 1 :/ just hope it's nothing really bad. Will get some more pics of my progress
  9. Well after a long night I've got both engines pretty much stripped. Took a quick photo during stripping one to show off my organisation skills lol Dropped the one from the car as its pretty goosed And had a closer look at the damage Upon removal discover me engine mounts are pretty minced as well Got a big list for this now. Not planning on putting a ct9 back on it put it that way
  10. Well here's a few pics of what I found in the sump :/ oh dear Cylinder 1 has a piston sized hole in the back and a hole about an inch round at the front. Here's the culprit What's left of the Conrod also... It's going to be a busy week. I've already rounded two head bolts so they will need drilled out. Struggling to get the crank pulley from the old engine. Got flywheel off but can't get the pulley :/ take it it's an impact gun job?
  11. No thanks bud not quite what I'm after lol cheers though

    Engine parts

That's pretty reasonable for forged components. I'm needing to get some money together as I certainly wasn't prepared for my bottom end to throw a rod! lol. Will let you know mate.
  13. Haha nah I never rebuilt it just got it as it was lower miles and the syncros were spot on (old ones were shot) and I painted it with some VHT halfords stuff lol. Well I had the crank turn one turn one way then again back and can hear the bearings spinning/grumbling away and what sounds like loose bits of metal falling about :/ Going to wait to get a mate up to help get it in the garage to have a proper look with the sump off and see for real the damage. Wish I got that second engine rebuilt sooner now gutted lol.

    Engine parts

Was wondering if you guys had any engine parts (i.e. pistons/rods/bearings/gaskets etc) lying around yous can sell. Forged or stock (price depending atm) If you could let me know some prices you can do for parts will be appreciated
  15. Car is now mot'd and taxed! Driving it daily now as starlet threw a rod. Will take px (my way) on a cheap derv/runaround? Also price drop to £2200 without recaro
  16. I'll come by whatever we do. Doubt my starlet will be back on the road though will have to come in the yellow thing....
  17. That's the plan! Got a second engine sitting in my garden I'm planning to forge anyway! Hope this one isnt too bad!
  18. Disaster! Went out for lunch at college yesterday and the car started knocking after giving it a bit of boost (was warmed up etc) then tonnes of white smoke came from the exhaust and the knocking got louder an the car lost all power. Looked behind the car there was oil everywhere pissing out the bottom the dv and turbo had white smoke pourin out of it. Shut off the engine and got towed home by the AA. Fuck. Had a quick look underneath and found a hole in the sump at the top. Possibly thrown a rod? Or as minor as a blown sump? I'm going to take the sump off today and have a look inside and see
  19. Got it off my mates old engine that fried a ring. I also have the engine to overhaul now Cheers dude Yeah was thinking a full respray at some point. m Maybe supra grey although I have bigger things to worry about now
  20. Thanks! Was a worth while bargain. Pretty mint condition too considering.
  21. Well time for an update methinks! Recently been collecting and fitting a few new parts i.e. Nardi wheel, new gauges, Bee R rev limiter, tuning developments fuel pump, and some other little bits and bobs The wheel I must say is pure sex! TRD Nardi wheel I spied on eBay and grabbed for a bargain Also got a new OEM clutch fitted and a fresher gearbox. The clutch doesn't appear like its going to last long as its been fitted a month and slipping already. Shiney! Not so shiney Manky old clutch... Looking a little sorry for itself Also had a few runs at Crail (dragstrip up this way) best time
  22. Buzzed for this! Heading down today to camp and have a few cold ones and a BBQ!
  23. It was mine and Mark's first time down the strip a couple of weeks back. You get the hang of it after a few runs. Some of my times were embarassing but it gives you such a buzz.
  24. Yeah defo dude I'm sure there's a few bits that'll interest me.
