Brought 2nd hand lsd box from a lad on tgtt My mate has just started stripping it. And 5th gear will come off the shaft. He's removed the circlips and got his gear puller on it but still not moving.. anyone had this problem before and got a solution? Any help will b much appriciated. Lewis

I know when i rang toyota the other day. I think they said for 2nd syncro there was a choice of 2.but will b a case of stripping it down to see which 1... but that was for c56 box.. Thats y i could do with some1 identifying the box above.

I was only going by the guide... Looks same as whats in my glanza now.. And i said in previous posts.. its doing the speeds of c56 box. Just wanna know if syncros the same so can order bits up..

Am i correct in saying this is a c52 box? Brought it from guy on tgtt selling as a glanza box. Also do the to boxes run same syncros? Toyota can only source parts off my glanza chassis number, As my mate is stripping it down in next couple of days. Just b handy to know so i can get bits ordered up. Cheers

Cheers morgey thats kinda summed it up for me.. I think im gunna get this 56 box I've found cus On me lunch I've been out to my car and had a look about. Looking at this page http://www.ukstarletowners.com/page/articles.html/_/drivetrai/c52-gt-turbo-vs-c56-glanza-gearboxs-r45 My casing the same as the c52 but running a 195/50/15 tyre my car limits in third @ 100mph And is around 135mph in 4th.. So figures and and box dont realli match.. So my im not realli loose much getting this box. But will gain smooth working box again. Thanks for all your help. Much appriciated..

So if i can get the 3rd and 4th from toyota when i get syncos they should all go in 56 box :-D :-D

Cheers mate. But that makes me really wanna keep the c52 box..lol I've never had much experience with gearboxes. If i got the c52 3rd and 4th gears would they fit the c56 box?

Im not sure which 1 it is. Just going from the link i saw on here about identifying the 2 boxes that mines the c52 Just struggling to find a another oem lsd box and managed to find a cheap c56 lsd box. Only running 200bhp so im sure 56 box will be strong enough. Just didnt know how much of a loss im gunna notice in those 2 gears.

Currently running a c52 box with oem lsd. Which needs rebuilding. Got chance of a c56 box which also needs syncros replacing but can get it fairly cheap. So was thinking of getting that and rebuilt so i can do a straight swap... I read that the c52 has a longer 3rd and 4th ratio but is there a noticeable drop between the boxes???

Just been down to my mates garage and he just explained all that for me. My knowledge on gearboxes is a bit poor...lol. He's agreed to strip it out for me. Does anyone stock box components or is it a case of a phone call to toyota?
