Fueling supporting mods?

Recommended Posts

i got a few questions i got a 4efe engine 96 was looking through ebay at parts and came across a fuel presure regulator

would it be any good on a none turbo engine?

also if i replace the injectors with 225cc or 295cc would i need the replace the fuel pump with a high presure pump to keep the injectors going?

first things first i need the get the airflow done first bugeye inlet, 7efe throttlebody, induction kit ect ect

You can adjust fuel littlebit with regulator, but it should done in dyno, 295cc are maybe too big for N/A. Just change other parts first, then fuel system if needed, waste of money because normally oem system are overfueling and ECU controls that anyway. Fuel pump can handle bigger injectors also, but if future is turboengine, then go for it.

Changing the reg on a NA wont really make any difference to power - there really isnt any point changing it other than looks, especially on a factory ecu. If you had an aftermarket ecu you could use an aftermarket reg to lift the rail pressure which can sometimes aid in fuel atomisation which in turn can help with low manifold vacuum fuel burn. This (depending on how good the misting pattern is of your injectors) sometimes give you a bit more torque, but you'd need to reduce the fuel map to compensate for the extra fuel being delivered.
