starletezy Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 sounds like your alternator might not be charging the battery Quote
ashep91 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 It's a new battery I don't drive the car just put in new battery and leave it over night when I come back in the morning the new battery just goes flat Quote
Ollieh17 Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Multimeter on the battery and take fuses out one by one should point you in the direction of whats draining it Quote
ashep91 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 No amp fitted no cd player only Apexi power afc with hand commander aem wide band and 6 gauges it was fine last year seems to have happened all of a sudden and I haven't added anything Quote

morgey Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Multimeter on the battery and take fuses out one by one should point you in the direction of whats draining itThis Quote
ashep91 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Thanks guys will give it a go and keep you posted just before I try though could it be a earth somewhere or a faulty ecu? Although it as running fine last year Also I can't see gauges running a full battery down over night Quote
morgey Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 If the battery is flat no, if its just struggling to start but the battery is charged then possiblyIt could be a power lead earthing out, That would drain the battery but that should blow a fuse. Quote
ashep91 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 It's just flat no lights hazards nothing that's after I put a new battery in and left it over night when I put new battery in it starts first time it's just after its left over night in l morning it's flat Quote
Madge1980 Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Alarm systems can be a common cause for a drain on a battery if you have one fitted? Quote
starletezy Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Would start by using a multimeter to see it its charging first if all good check the battery is not dead Quote
MARC MOSS Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 i bet alternator.... you need a clamp meter or multimeter that can read amps that or charge the battery then remove the plug and pos cable off of the alternator then see if it starts the next day... Its going to be quite a major electrical component to suck a battery dry overnight and i bet its the alternator as well..... Quote
ashep91 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Would it still stuck power if car isn't running? Quote
ashep91 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 I do have a alarm system fitted but had it for a while never had a problem with it before I have a viper alarm Quote
starletezy Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Don't think the alarm would be the corporate if you have no issues with it would be more like battery or alternator Quote
MARC MOSS Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 Would it still stuck power if car isn't running?Yep all switched off as its a direct un switched link to the battery Quote
