Decided to take my wastegate off my car since after so many years of work it got stuck open one day! Tought i give it some testing with a regulated compressed air.

Connected the hose to the bottom nipple and as opened the air to around 10psi air strarted to leak right round the valve , out the exhuast chamber. As i continued to increase to 20psi air was getting out more and more.

May i ask is it normal? Tought that a wastegate cannot leak from nowhere.

Thanks

Just realised I misunderstood your 1st post.

But yeh that's not ideal as you could end up making more boost than your spring is intended for if here is a leak.

Prob worth taking the spring out and checking the diaphragm for any damage then
