Cleaning parts for assembly

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, sorry for the 1001 questions but this build is costing me a fcking fortune so I've decided to do it 100% properly and by the book because I'm not doing it again.

Anyway, when my block and head get back from the machine shop I'll be looking to clean it all out fully. Mainly the coolant jackets and oil galleries as I noticed they're not clean at all.

I thought of buying a big plastic tub and filling it with green diesel or gunk and soaking it for 48hrs followed by a jet washing ? What other ways have people done it ?

Many thanks in advance

Spray or brush some sort of fuel onto it. You dont need to submerge it.

Work the fuel into the grime and dirt then leave it for a while re-applying more fuel and working in if need be.

Then pressure wash it clean and dry it in front of a space heater.
