gorganl2000
i know forged pistons for our engines are advertised in 74.0mm/74.5mm/75.0mm sizes my question - is the advertised size the actual size of the pistons? or is it actually a little smaller and more like the stock size 73.90mm - 73.93mm? 5e colin
you get a spec sheet with actual size to bore to for a given set of pistons diferent brands have diferent sizes

gorganl2000
you get a spec sheet with actual size to bore to for a given set of pistons diferent brands have diferent sizes cool colin it's not the actual size ok, let's say a popular brand like wossner, what is the actual size of a 74mm or 74.5mm wossner piston? seems a lot of members use this piston in their builds and what kind of bore clearance is recommended on the spec sheet that colin mentioned? Ollieh17
it should say in the specs
gorganl2000
i was doing some research and its just seemed a bit weird that in some older posts that some just appeared to hone the block and insert the forged pistons---well for standard size 74mm....as opposed to going the machine shop route and getting a proper rebore to specs
epcashin
74mm waste of time be too much piston slap74.5 and bore the block .5 much better
