Bourkey Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Howdy,After reading up on how to paint wheels im going to have a bash at it myself (i am going to practice before doing mine though). The reason being is i've overspent considerbly on my conversion as i wanted it doing right plus i've got an expensive holiday in 17 weeks i need to save for.Anyway, I need a colour to spray the whole wheel as now everyone has the polished lip, not that it doesn't look good, i just want to be different as when i first got it, it was pretty rare. Please can you make some suggestions on a choice of wheel colour for me to do and if possible could someone do a few photoshops of different colour wheels. Im thinking maybe white, bronze, dark grey, Black etc. Or maybe evenBut it would take a while. Here some pics to use.thanks in advanceBourkey Quote
Bourkey Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 I would laugh at that as that colour is mental but i recently saw some on a beautiful porsche 911 turbo and it looked shit hot!!!!!!but sorry im not doing lime green.Bourkey Quote
Sparky Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Red spokes with black lip just to be different Quote
Bourkey Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 Sorry but no greens. I think it's becoming an obsession. I was thinking that Sparky but the problem wouls be the wheels would then look tiny.Im considering giving the red lip and black centre a bash. It aint gonna be easy though.Bourkey Quote
Sparky Posted April 12, 2008 Posted April 12, 2008 Yea I agree about them looking small...maybe all red? Quote

Bourkey Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 OK u bulb , what about matt black with a red lip???BourkeyEdit: Haven't you just done your Speedlines in black?? Quote
Sparky Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 True but there will be a blue lip going on soon so nerrr ;) ;) Quote
Bourkey Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 Do NOT nerr me sonny boy!!!!To do this properly it should take around 4-6 hours a wheel. Plus 24 hours to let the primer dry and 24 hours to let the paint dry. Then you laquer and wait for another 24 hours of your life you dissapear before you can put them on. Well something like that anyway. Im gonna have a bash at the Black centre and red lip i think. It will take a while but if i put the effort in it will look mint.Bourkey Quote
Sparky Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Gonna look good mate ;)I left a wheel 15mins between coats of primer etc ;) Quote
Bourkey Posted April 15, 2008 Author Posted April 15, 2008 That sounds about right between coats of primer then your supposed to leave it 24 hours before adding paint. Can you tell i've been reading up on it for the past few days.If it looks bad i'll cry for a bit then start again.Bourkey Quote
