i have £1100 to spend at the end of this month....

Recommended Posts

well basicaly i work for hullcity football club and becuase we reached the premiership i receive a bonus at the end of this month of £1100 from my work!!! ;) so i want to spend this on the car on perfomance mods, as my engine is pritty much stock apart from the apexi power fc ecu and optional boost controller and hks exhaust hi silent power, and a rex tmic,so want some more engine upgrades before i get it mapped.

my turbo oil seals have gone so i either want to run a ct9hybrid setup and get a new mani and fmic. or maybe if i could find a good turbo kit thats in my price range?

i dont get the money till the 28th of this month so got some time to find the right kit

so what do you guys recomend?

cheers

tucka

good lad ;)

think your on the right tracks with the new Mani and FMIC, obviously thats all depending on what turbo route you want to go so have a look at what the traders are offering atm!

might me worth looking into an up-rated fuel pump too before the mapping!

you keeping the std air box?

maybe braided brake lines and master cylinder stopper too? ;)

Go for a hybrid! I would! lol.

Get some bigger injectors (7MGE ones) if needed, walbro fp, front mount air filter, fmic, mani, de-cat, exhaust and get it setup ! Should be good, with your ECU you could probably max out a hybrids output, so 220-230hp atf.

K26 would be epic. But wouldn't really be able to get the most out of it on standard internals (220-230hp atf is "safe" I'd say).

you'll need to spend double your budget to get the most out of a k26 mate, forget that one unless you wanna spend a good amount of what the car's actually worth.

You wont need a fuel pump, 255lph walbro's etc are MASSIVE overkill for starlets, the stock pump is more than ample, or you could just get the OEM pump from a skyline or 200sx or something for a few quid (20quid or so from one of the forums) and it'll be more than enough for stock internals. all these people that say you need a walbro have no idea, at the end of the day its a 1.3 and you'll struggle to max out the stock pump unless you're whipping the engine out.

i wouldnt spend all that money, wont the club ask for it back when you get relegated????? ;) i jest, this is a bit of a pointless post really as the posts above it are all pretty good and ive got nothing of any help to say lol

More likely to fail? have you ever heard of a toyota fuel pump dying? i know i haven't. either way, 255's are overkill, massive overkill. if they're used in 500bhp skylines, then they're rather overkill on a starlet.

the holiday sounds like a good idea mate. personally i'd stick it in an isa or something and sit on it for a while, put it towards something ube like a house deposit or a bloody good holiday - the misses would surely like either of those.

Arb's do make such a difference, ideally you want noticable increases for as little as possible, listen to the guys above, except for the ones that are talking shit. you have my permission to kick them in the scrot.

totaly id go on this also, keirs also has the right idea,

my wee sugestions, a decent bucket seat and aftermarket stearing wheel, both mods will help you increase your hold over the car

maybe a short shift kit and some decent aftermarket pedals biased toward heal and toeing,

or you could spunk your setup on some monty brakes and an emanage l ol

decisions decisions

Forget the k26 on standard internals.

For that budget, you would easily reach the 200 mark, and a tad over depending how far you push a hybrid.

But thats the route i took, i only forged mine because i shattered a rod in my previous one.

If you want drivability, and response..Stick to a hybrid or maybe a TD04.anything larger and youre looking at lag which makes it less fun to drive unless youre dragging it or driving on large tracks.

With the power fc and a hybrid you should get a decent figure with the rx top mount.

A decent hybrid will set you back half of that budget alone.. so

well i have already got my self a pair of bride seats and takata harnesses, momo steering wheel, razo pedals (everyone has them lol) plus im shockin at heal and toein, more of a left foot brake man.

well i have managed to source a hybrid on tgtt for £395 which is pritty good price! just after a fmic now think il get one of them hdi ones, as i get massive heat soak from the tmic!
