JM_16v
im going to take off my cat at the weekend and replace it, im i right in thinking its an easy but fiddaly job?what size is the Lambour sensor tool i need 22mm? i know you can use a spanner but would prefer the proper tool
Asad
yeh im sure its 22mm? n i dont think there is a "proper" tool just drench it with WD and use a open ended spanner and twist the rest of it off by hand do the job in decent weather/under cover and allow plenty of time for grazed knuckles and swearing
DavidAshton
Its is a giant twat of a job to do, there is a lip round the back part of the lambda sensor so if you dont have a perfect size spanner its pretty impossible to get off. If you still have aircon and the stadard efi pipe be prepared to swear a lot. Id also remove the rad so you have a bit more to work, even then its still a twat. Also watch out for boost creep after you fit it. Had to turn my actuator down to below .6 bar and it creeps upto .8 bar.
WallaceGlanza
I took my cat to a garage and got them to remove both sensors for 10quid, mine were absolutely solid and had to be heated with a blow torch for ages before they budged.
RobSR
its not that hard to do. just make sure you have some decent extenders for your ratchet...and a proper lamba sensor tool will make it alot easier...or just chop the side out of a 22mm socket
StarletRick
buy a cheap socket and use an angle grinder to open up the side so you can put the wire out there. job done.
