Kara GTT Posted January 31, 2009 Share Posted January 31, 2009 My rant of the day,well here it goes this morning doing my bumper on my car let my dog(staffordshire bull terrier) out the yard and he sees a woman walking her dog(westie) he loves dogs so went upto it and started sniffing it,so my fella goes and sees what hes doing,the westie bit my dog,so my dog stood his ground and went to bite it back when the woman stuck her hand in front of my dogs mouth,my dog caught her,so i went over and though oh shit my dogs gonna have made a mess of her hand,for her to take her glove off and have a lightly scratch mark on her hand,so i told her that you dont put your hand in front of two dogs scrapping your going to get bit if you do that,so she started saying im not taking you to court etc i said take us my dog done naff all,so has we were walking off she said dogs like that need locking up,so i turned round and she said well not your dog,so my fella said well dont walk your fcuking dog down our road then!Why is it people hate staffys i know they have a bad name but its how you bring them up and mine is soft has shit!Does anyone else have staffys on here and have the same problem people look at them funny cause they have a staffy?It does my heading!Rant over Quote Link to post Share on other sites

The easy way to seperate dogs fighting is to grab the collars and twist, chokes the buggers an they let go. I always choke the other dog first tho, makes sure the aggressor gets battered a bit more and it may learn not to pick a fight next time! Most staffs have the aggression bred out of them now but i've met a few nasty ones around here but thats purely down to chavs having them to look "ARD INNIT"I have a working JR (kills things for fun!)and they have a bad rep due to people who have not socialised their dog and can't control them, they are aggressive lil fuckers at times but mine is as soft as shit. Mine was aggressive till i made a point of socialising him with strangers dogs.I never have my terrier on a lead, he will go up to any dog and sniff it's arse it's what dogs are meant to do. If the other dog picks a fight then it best look out as both me and my dog will knock the shit out of it!Theres no such thing as a bad dog.....just bad owners!by the way sparky yorkies were bred to hunt rats and are fuckin good at it given the chance Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Driver Posted February 1, 2009 Share Posted February 1, 2009 we have a westieshe will take any dog on and win she is one hard little mother, i took her ratting other day (keep ferrets aswell ya see and they all need working/exersize) and she took loads of them oni love staffies especially the nice muscley ones with a big head on them, apart from alot of lil chavs and nobeds have them now because they look "hard" Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If that situation had happened to us we would have picked our dog up and that would have been the end of it!! No malice intended, just like, saying hello! But other dogs don't like it so either get scared or aggressive! Hes a softy, but people get scared! Wouldn't hurt a fly! Dan Evans Posted February 1, 2009 Share Posted February 1, 2009 I've had 4 staffys through out my time, there gorgeous dogs n i love them to bits, there only given bad names because of chavs walkin around with them.i only had one problem with one of my staffys, she killed an police dog in germany by ripping half its neck out, which got my beloved staffy put down......staffys are good dogs, n are really soft, but its not the dogs that are bad, its there owners Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Bourkey Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 My parents have a Scottish Terrier at their house. I'd say it's more agressive than any Staff i've known. Shout at it though and he soon shuts up . Like someone has said it's all about the owner and the training of the dog. ANY dog has the potential to be a dangerous dog and i would never 100% trust any dog. My girlfriends parents own a Border Terrier and it is the most well trained and obedient dog i've ever known.
