I've had Castrol Magnatec (semi-synthetic, 10w40) / Kroon Emperol (semi-synthetic, 10w40). Currently I am using a fully synthetic 5w30 from the local Toyota dealer. It runs smoother on that oil, despite the fact some people in Holland say it should be too thin.

A decent fully synthetic will last much longer than a semi synth. If you want some high quality stuff go for silkolene Pro S 5w-40. That will give the best cold start protection and not need changing as often as a cheaper semi synthetic such as Castol Magnatec.
