Glanza_cl Posted July 18, 2009 Share Posted July 18, 2009 which hybrid are you trying to compare it to? as there are so many variations out now but generally most 'hybrids' will have a bored out inlet housing to fit in a bigger comp wheel... some have uprated bearings but generally they are a bored out ct9 with a larger comp wheel and ported wastegate.think of them as a super high air flowing ct9. give Enzo a pm as he sells nothing but them so will be able to give you loads of info, also Keirz on here rebuilds them so again could give a load of info if you need it. hope that helps mate. ste91 Posted July 18, 2009 Share Posted July 18, 2009 Very roughly speaking as an example, a CT9 could boost up to a bar and then it is on it's limits, whereas a hybrid CT9 could reach 1.2 bar for example.200 has been achieved on a standard CT9 but with alot of effort and strain on the turbo. WallaceGlanza Posted July 18, 2009 Share Posted July 18, 2009 A true hybrid is one which uses a number of turbo's in its construction to make one turbo, the one's for the starlets which are described as hybrids are actually just hi flow turbos.But anyway the one's available for our cars generally have a larger compressor wheel fitted and the compressor intake is bored out, this means that at the same boost levels the turbo will push out more air and hence make more power, some will also have a thicker/stronger shaft to cope with higher boost levels and cut back turbine wheels to aid the turbo spool up.For specific possible outputs from the various hybrids available have a look around and find out what one's people are using and what they're getting with them.
