ktl
It feels like sand,or mudI've also get alot of coolant built back up into the expansion tank and sometimes comes out of the overflow pipe after a motorway journey or a good thrashing.
Kennedy
Oil in the coolant?..Need a new Head Gasket?Could just be a build up of crap from the system aswell..try flushing it all out and adding some new clean coolant in.
Russleh
could be headgasket or can also happen if you do alot of short journeys.

Russleh
think he means that if the headgasket was gone then there would be similar at the filler cap.
StarletRick
that looks to me like manky old coolant and nothing more. give it a flush through and get some new coolant.
Starlet__SR
Funny how everyone jumps to the headgasket problem, have you checked the state of your oil too? Does it use any oil? Empty the coolant, flush it through and refill with coolant.Damien
ktl
Thanks for all your inputs. I did a compression test 2 weeks ago and came back around 150 on all 4 cylinders. I'v just flushed and empited out the radiator and looking down inside the rad, the fins are covered with that gunk. I'v added toyota red mix inside. Im waiting for a new rad cap to see if it resolves this lift of coolant up the expansion tank, and it dont syphon back into the radiator when cools down ! . (It started overflowing when it was on the rollers)

Steve GT
i agree with rick might just be a build up of shite in the systemtake all pipes off and flush them all out, empty the water bottle and flush all that out, put fresh water in, bleed the system to stop air locks and should be fine
