No Boost

hi today i have fitted a external wastegate manifold and wastegate a FMIC a decat and a front mount air filter and i have no boost atall checkedd allmy intercooler piping but couldnt find any leaks any ideas what it could be causing this??

Have you checked all your intercooler pipes are on properly? No leaks?

have you checked the vacum pipe that gos from the actuator to the turbo

sometime they split also what actuator have you got??

if it isnt leaking anywhere, its going to be the wastegate.

silly question... is the spring in it?

havent actually checked if theres a spring in it (will do that today)

its a new pipe im using for the wastegate

i have checked my intercooler pipes about 10 times

Weld the wastegate flap shut on your turbo??

yeh got a bracket made up

turns out i think my turbo just shat itself because there is a bit of oil in the compressor housing

you would still get boost mate, just alot of smoke with it. has to be something to do with a lack of pressure... something to do with the external wastgate possible

Is there any movement in the boost gauge needle at all or does it just stay where it is?

checked the wastegate couldnt find anything wrong

the needle moves from - .65 to 0 then once the car gets higher in the rev range it feels like it might be hitting fuel cut

also checked for play in the compressor wheel and theres none and it still rotates

I know you said you've checked for leaks in the pipes, but I had the same issue. I was certain none of them were leaking but I just took them all off and made sure I did everything 100% perfect second time around, felt where the pipe was in the hose etc. When I put it together it boosted perfectly.

Might be worth doing that as it'll be easier than most things that need doing with the wastegate/turbo.

no they are not adjustable i have a 0.7 bar spring in it

i have taken my intercooler pipes off and refitted them quite a few times still no luck

took it for another drive and on the downrev get a strange rattle from the turbo area ??

i also removed the pipe for the wastegate just to see what happened and there is no difference

Take the filter relocation off and drive it

I bet yiu have put the stainless pipe too far down the silicone pipe and its restricting the air getting into the turbo, the same happened to me when I fitted mine

silly question but are all the turbo studs done up tight? is there any noise when you drive and try and come onto boost?

no whooshing sounds? any noises at all... apart from the rattle you stated?
