Just Snapped A Stud

Recommended Posts

Ok so. long story short;

Welded my decat because it was cracked. The flange warped slightly so wasnt 100% flat. Upon re-fitting it, i was tightening up one of the nuts, slowly pulling the flange true. Then SNAP goes the stud.

Ive never been in this situation before... and im so pissed off at myself.

My questions are:

Am i completly fucked?

Can i remove the stud?

If so, shall i remove the whole lot? (turbo,manifold etc) then tackle it.

What shall i do about the warped flange on the de-cat?

:D

easy peasy

wd40 it then put one nut on half way down, then another nut on and put them tighten them against each other, then use the back nut to twist the stud out. thats if youve got enough thread.

if not, mole grips and a hammer

As said not a major problem you can get a pair of decent pliers on there or weld a nut to it and undo it (I had to do that to my turbo hotside pipe before!!)

If you got loads of bolts lying about you could try fitting one of them other than getting a new stud from Toyota
