Will Someone Explain What A Apexi Avcr Boost Controler Does.

hye, my glanza v was fitted with a apexi avcr boost controller and the actuator uprated.

would someone explain to me what these do? also what the b.controller does and how to play with it, also if i should be playing with it. lol.

cheers guys, p.s im new to turbos thats all.

Its an Electronic Boost Controller so it controlls the boost levels electronically!

The boost controller will limit the boost to whatever its set at (probs 0.8 and/or 1 bar)

If you are new to turbo's then leave the settings alone as you will probs damage someting.

Look online for a user manual and read that and it should help.

cheers mate, id found the user manual, but i cant understand any of that to be honest.lol. ill have another good look, i sort of understood it controlled boost etc. its set at 0.8 bar, can i up the boost or is it better to leave it well alone? it has an uprated actuator which i beleev you need to fit when fitting the boost controller? so does that meen i can play around a little bit

I've always been confused by this aswell but not looked into. i know that changin boost changes fueling etc so does that not mean it will need remapped when you change the boost ? sorry for hijacking the thread but the answer will probably help you too :lol:

If the car is basically standard leave it at 0.8bar Boost levels are not something to play with if you don't know what the effects are and especially if you don't have the appropriate modifications to support the increase in boost.

My advice would be to do some research and start learning about turbo'd cars if you want to start tinkering, as damage can easily be done by just turning the boost up.

as above really - leave it for now as it should be fast enough for you.

Without supporting mods you are likely to do damage if you up the boost

Well your standard ECU will fuel you upto a bit above .8 bar you can run this fine without upgrading anything.

Id say the next decent hike would be upto 1 bar.

You will need a aftermarket manifold as the standard one has a restriction in the 3rd runner which will cause excessive heat at higher boost and potentially end your engines life.

Secondly a FMIC, go look at your standard one, it is tiny, you need something bigger to cool 1bar boost.

Exhasut and decat will help unlock more power but I wouldnt say essential.

You have a decent actuator and boost controller so no problems physically raising the boost.

Lastly and id say most importantly is engine management. There is way too much available for me to go into detail but i sugest you have a search and read up on plug and play ecu's, emanage and all the other ones available.
