Need Insurance Help Asap

Recommended Posts

Right I've been looking for insurance all evening, I thought I was sorted because last week I'd been on some comparison websites and got some reasonable prices £1000-£1100 third party only which were reasonable.

But I phone them up and they say they can't insure me? :(

Fucking waste of time, why bother putting it on the fucking website if it's not real!

The cheapest "non bullshit" quote has been over 3 grand which is a fucking joke!

Some companies say they wont insure me because of the performance of the car. Yet another crock of shit, I could get quotes for a Starlet GT, which 1; is a jap import and 2; is slightly faster than a CRX on paper.

So does anyone know of any specialist insurers or anything like that, ones that don't show up on comparison sites, etc...

Oh I forgot to mention I'm only 18 with 1 years NCB.

I know most people will think "dream on" or whatever but I did actually get a fair few quotes for a Starlet GT around £2k.

I really can't understand why the CRX is more expensive. Maybe the insurance companies don't realise what a Starlet GT/Glanza is lol.

what CRX is it, just a UK D16? or a VTEC? my one of my ex girlfriends has a UK D16 as her first car when 17 and she was only paying £1000 fully comp on it all mods declaired

she was with some specialist company though

Ah right, I'm well pissed off with it because I thought I was sorted when I'd looked on the comparison websites.

Really fucks me off when things are looking good then you get knocked down again.

And some of these insurance call centre people are complete idiots. One of them asked me what my last name was and I didn't quite hear them so I said "could you repeat that please". And they thought I'd said my last name was Please! Morons!

Yep at 18 you will struggle.

Just to point out, the CRX is faster in standard trim than an EP - Proven many a time.

Anyway, try bell.com or Adrian flux.

My twin is only around 800 a year fully comp and his has a turbo strapped to it through A/F

Tried Adrian Flux the other day, at first they said £1700 which I thought was ok considering alot of people say they're really good, but then the phone went dead and when I called them back saying I'd just spoke to someone bla bla bla... they denied it all so I reckon someone made a cock up lol.

Comparison websites, what a watse of time thats all I can say...

Great for your mums standard Ford Focus run about.. but yes, no good for anything modified/imported.

Unfortunately my company cannot help due to being under our minimum age criteria.
