shaneyb
I changed my steering to an OEM steering wheel in better condition and the horn has stopped working since. I changed back to my original one and it still doesn't work. Any ideas anyone?

shaneyb
On the starlet its just one wire that you have to connet from the steering wheel to a connetion.

DavidAshton
Lift your bonnet and press the horn, if the buttons and fuse are ok you will here the fuse click, which than means its the actual horns.

lukEp
Cringe........... if its airbag steering wheel and you moved the squib/clock spring you could have damaged it.
shaneyb
Explain.
lukEp
A clock sping carries the wires for the airbag and horn on cars with airbag it can also carry wire for other buttons like radio, cruse control...... Etc on other cars equipt with such. The clock spring is a coil of flat wires that are designed in a certain way that it can only be rotated a set amount of times in each direction before it damages the wire. So if you adjust it while the steering wheel is off and dont put it back to its set position you could damage it when you go on full lock. I'm not very good at explain things so i hope you got the jist
shaneyb
Just checked the fuse and it looks fine.Does anyone know where this is meant to go? Its coming out from the horn.
DavidAshton
Its a plug for something else that im guessing was an optional extra, air con or fogs maybe, either way its always been unplugged and has nothing to do with the horn.
shaneyb
Hmm, Mot is in 6 weeks. Its not a good look. I thought I was onto something with that plug haha.
DavidAshton
Does the fuse click when you press the horn button?
shaneyb
Nope it doesn't.
DavidAshton
Well there is a problem between the button and the fuse then, so that narrows it down a little.
