Glanza_Lee
Hi all. I bought my Glanza a week ago now and when I bought it the guy said that the car had been converted from reading KMH to MPH. So I was wondering if it has been converted will the restrictor have been taken out? There are no gauges inside the car like the Apexi RSM so i'm guessing the car may have been fitted with the speedo conveter that goes into the gearbox? I dont really want to take my car to 112 mph to see if the fuel cut in comes in, so is there anyway of telling? Lee.
rorenapier
Get a torch, and follow the speedo cable down to the gearbox, either you will have the, cable-convertor-gearbox OR cable-gearbox.Take a photo and post it up.What does you speedo dial read up to? 180 or 110? LukeSR
Jack the car up only at the front and see?
Dan Evans
motorway, boot it see what the top speed is, it aint going to hit fuel cut at 112 or over, only if you over boost etc.
Glanza_Lee
I'll take a pic now mate and post it up. My dials go up to 110.

scot-ish
no coverter, you dials have had a facia placed over them, to nnow read 110, there will still be a limit at 112mph
Glanza_Lee
Thanks for clearing that up for me mate.
Glanza_Lee
If I buy a speedo converter this will then convert KMH to MPH and take restrictor out of the car? Or will I need something like the Apexi RSM to take restrictor out. Also what is the difference between a fuel cut defender and speed limit defender?
micky boy
Hello mate yes if you do buy a speedo converter if it will get rid of jap speed restrictor then you want need speed limit defender
scot-ish
fuel cut is a safety feature, that stops teh car boosting over .85 ish bar, as the manifold is not the best design, and this would cause a problem, its basically a protection for the carspeed cut, stop the car being driven over 112mph, its a jap law or summitif you buy a converter, it will get rid of the speed limit restriction, but it will make your speedo wrong, unless you remove the 110mph clocks that have been fitted
Glanza_Lee
The dial on the left is whats in my car now. If I buy the speedo converter off TM-Developments and got dials out of a Starlet GT (which go up to 180) is that all I need to do?
scot-ish
yup, that will sort it out if you do that mate
rorenapier
Dials from a GT wont work in the Glanza...
Glanza_Lee
I mean just the fascia out of a GT that goes to 180 to put over the one in my Glanza now.
rorenapier
Wont fit.The dials are completely diffirent.
Glanza_Lee
Okay, thought i'd seen some Glanzas with these dials fittted. Would indiglo dials fit?
Meston
Mines go upto 110mph but i'm always going off the dial when my right turns to mr lead. I <3 de-restricted cars. Wouldn't mind fitting one of those MoTeC displays at some point. Would look mint.
scot-ish
doesnt the glanza come with 180 dials aswell as standard?
rorenapier
All GT and Glanzas come with dials that read 180, they are not interchangable though. Some people fit converters, so the 180 dial can stay, also delimits to 180 mph instead of kphOthers fit 110 dials, and keep it restricted.Personal choice. If you do put a converter in, you will have to change the dials back to the 180 ones. Glanza_Lee
Yeah I will be fitting a converter. I dont suppose anyone on here has a set of standard Glanza 180 dials lying around anywhere?
