Dean @RW-Developments
Thats not true all the time though i would be suprised if you could get a quote on a glanza as to a turbo conversion cheaper just because what its based on uk car = cheep then they conbine it with what the engine is out of which was a gt, so its like insuring a uk spec gt really and as you may know gts a quite alot cheeper than glanzas to insure! the cheepest quote i could get was 1600 on a glanza standard, where as im insured on the turbo converted sportif for £1040 everythink declared upto the gearnob lol like for like also at 19/20 1 years ncb and a fault crash
5T4R7ET N/A
why do you need a multi qoute???just get two seperate polices. one your mum on the KA its gona be peanuts anyway.and the other for the glanza, a policy with your mum first and you as second driver. im sure it will be a lot cheaper, try some import specialists or something. Adrian flux is alrite for some.

BAZ2CRAZY
Youve got more money than sense. Why pay 3k for insurance... and still not be legit. You may aswell drive without insurance and face 6-8 points....(im not advising it if you think thats the case)..saved yourself 3k.Just buy an n/a and wait. spend 1k on an n/a. Then youve got 900 for insurance (assuming you have no no-claims and are quite young).. that leaves you 1100 to spend on modifications which can be put onto a glanza when you have it.Then over a year (you would of wasted 3k on insurance) you would have an n/a you could sell and 1100 pounds worth of parts to put on your glanza..wiser investment. But that imo.Mitch

Sparky
How can you expect to pay peanuts at the age of 18 on a pocket rocket??It will only end up around a lamp post Sorry juts getting fed up of seeing these threads. Do what most sensible people on here do. Get an n/a put some choice mods on it and build up some NCB then buy a Glanza or Gt when insurance is respectable and put your mods on it. Happy days

ecksjay
insured under mums name, yeah so why even have insurance? it's invalid anyway if its your car, you're the main driver, not her. named policy's are for second drivers, which this clearly isnt.also, over 3k for insurance? ha. hahaha. hahahahaha. why would anyone ever pay that? least of all on a bloody starlet. seriously mate, there's more to life. get something affordable for a while, job done. there is no way in the world i'd ever pay that for insurance, it's rediculous. i'd be willing to bet that you could insure a supra or gt-four for less than that, on your own policy. you'd be surprised what you can get insured on when they arent imports, or even sensible imports.some people really are silly. If you really want one then you only have a year to do it before you move. If your lucky then you might be able to get it imported out there as well At the end of the day its your choice, people on here can advise you at what they think is best but its your decision. When i was a student i really wanted a lexus IS200 and i posted up on lexus owners club that i wanted one, quite a few people told me that i wouldn't be able to afford it and i should wait, blah, blah, blah. I got one anyway, that was 6 years ago and i still have it now Jason
