starletparts
You'll probably find you'll be worse off than using the stock unit.PB.
Shaun
y it is the same turbo
Glanza_Ragger
part numbers are dfferent as allready stated. which means the housings are ct9 stock unit but itll probably have a different comp wheel and/or impellor ? seeing as it is designed for a diesel

Shaun
i think you find the turbo does fit i fitted mine tonight some things had to be changed like swaping the inlet housing and also turn the exhaust housing 180' but thats it then the turbo is the same and work like new and now my car dosent smoke ;) ;)
Nanglebadger
Lets see some pics dude!Phil.
Glanza_Ragger
when you say smoke, how was it smoking.on boost? puffs of smoke?on idle when warm ? prepare for a full tutorial on how to remove your ct9's when i get my hybrid in a few weeks
Shaun
it was on idle and y do you guys want pics just looks like the same turbo that came of
Glanza_Ragger
i cant see how the diesel ct9's can be the same spec as the petrol ones.but if its running fine then thats brilliant.
Shaun
it works fine but y wouldent it be the same just because its diesel turbo dos the same job on a petrol and diesel
Glanza_Ragger
its not exactly like a diesel needs to spool up fast ? lol unless you need to get your kids to school ontime ;)
Shaun
yeah but the engine on the lucida is diesel is not going to go fast because that little turbo is powering a 2.2 still dosent mean it spool any slower and i raced my mates glanza last night and i was side by side all the way so i think they perform the same no slower
lobotomy
Diesels tend to run lower boost pressures though -- so maybe the compressor wheel has a different trim?I don't know for sure but it's the same way you get TD04's with different trim -- some perform better than others. gaz
diesel turbos wont get as hot... so im assuming a disesel turbo on a petrol car will eventually overheat.
ecksjay
pretty sure its the same turbo guys, even if the part number is different, but obviously its not a straight swap as shaun found out, it needs modification.dont see why it couldnt be the same though. its all about saving money. if they can use the same turbo with slight modifications then why not, it does the same job. lobotomy
If it is then great! cheap replacement turbo's ahoy!
scutch0
hmmm, i think shaun should do a writeup on what he did to fit it, and what model he got it from?
