Mikey Jay
Ok, may seem like a daft question but what exactly is a strut brace used for?Cheers
shanksportif
Stiffens up the chassis of the car mate; thus improving handling. Upper and lower strut braces combined improve handling a lot; although as I have discovered the lower ones can rub on the exhaust causing a massive racket!!
Mikey Jay
Cheers, much appreciated. How noticable is the improvement in handling though?
Sparky
Car feels alot more stable thru fast bends but not really noticeable in the slow corners
miracle411
From my experience it transformed the N/A machine if thats what your driving, it made the front turn in a lot faster and definately felt like there was less roll and that both wheels were evenly planted on the road with nice grip. EarL
Technically, a strut brace (which is fixed to the tops of the struts via the existing bolts) stops the shock towers from flexing apart whilst cornering, and altering the steering geometry mid corner. If the struts are held at a constant angle the car will corner that much more sure footed.HTH. Mikey Jay
Cheers for all the help guys.Once have some money may consider getting myself one.Are they easy to fit yourself though? (last question for now)
Jozinobi
Earl is 99% correct, but they actually REDUCE flex, not STOP flex totally whilst cornering! They each offer a minor improvement in handling, but if coupled all round with multiple applications you will have a much sturdier ride. They are also 100% easy to fit for yourself too.Do a search for strut brace as this topic has been covered before! There you will find info on how to fit one as there is no point in me writing here again bro.Expect to pay £50 for a standard gt/glanza one and £125+ for an aftermarket one.Happy Hunting!Peace OutJoz
