Socks Posted April 30, 2010 Share Posted April 30, 2010 my hotpipe just failed on my HDI fmic kit i was boosting it up.... then all my boost lights on the rev counter just went off... :sturned music off, opened window.... hoover noise. wtfopened hood, looked round all the joiners, all seemed fine. then a glance at hotpipe and just put my hand on it and the whole thing came off the flange in my hand pissed off!When i fitted the kit, i made sure nothing was rattling or touching metal or anything like that.... so im unsure what caused the failure But im going to try and get it welded, but if not whats the best place i can get a new hot pipe from peeps? Glanza_cl Posted April 30, 2010 Share Posted April 30, 2010 yeah that seems to be the only downfall about them(not that it happens much), when i had mine i wasn't overly impressed with the hot pipe seemed a bit flimsy and the welding didn't look all that.all you can do is try and weld it or if that fails look for a used one. Sparky Posted May 1, 2010 Share Posted May 1, 2010 Mate EXACTLY the same thing happened to mine!!!!Picked the mrs up on the way to Japshow, give it a bit of boost and it made the loudest BANG I thought oh fuck Drove all the way there and home with no boost, Good thing is it was fucking awsome on fuel I gave it to my uncle and he took it to work and got it welded for me. it was alot stronger then.Pretty sure I have TRD mounts or at least uprated ones though because my engine hardly moves Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Socks Posted May 1, 2010 Author Share Posted May 1, 2010 sparky, ive been driving so slow i dont want to ruin my turbo! my mate took the piss saying jap crap! i put him right, cus hdi is actually austrailian company? loli dont rag my car at all. i give it alot of mechanical sympathy.... feed power in, dont slam the gears about. so im quite miffed this failed... hopefully it shall be welded up on tuesday. since its bank holiday everywhere ive tried is shut! another weekend of left 4 dead for me then! i hope it pisses it down! if i cant enjoy driving my car in the sun no one else shud be able to sucks Quote Link to post Share on other sites
