AaronW
ive got an offer for a straight swap for my pulsar.basically once i get a reply the deal should (touch wood) be going ahead.anyone know much about them, been in them ect?1.8t ,has 140k motorway miles mainly.has a few little bits need sorting like cv boot ect.adjustable coilovers all round, full exhaust system (think it was a BFO), red interior, turbo timer, FMIC, solid boost pipes, uprated FPR , been breathed on by AMD and had a stage 2 map and runs 221bhp. Around 12 months mot 6 months tax.i figure im gettin it cheap and was guna forge the pulsar, this way i can forge this, and have comfort too.just wanting opinions /advice on/about these cars.im after a newer, more comfy but still nippy with street cred (tho not jap)thanks for looking Aaron

Scott-EP
Looks nice but i wouldn't believe the all motorway miles bit! Everyone says that and i cannot imagine someone would put Coilys, Exhaust ect on unless they was taking it out to show it off, Well i wouldn't personally
Lukew360
Personally i think the mileage is to high on the CupraOh and i prefer Pulsars Luke
LeeG
always fancied one of these but mate has golf with same engine and its always sensors fcukin up on him thts what has put me off plus are the gearbox in them are ment to b soft.
AaronW
there is a sensor wrong with this one as we speak, somthin to do with the breaks/abs.i see what your sayin r33-gtr,aslong as its tidy inside im not too fussed,as i plan to build/buy a forged engine for it within 6months anyway,so if it holds out for that much im happy.dantheman mentioned the gearbox'es being soft also, but he did say his mate had 340bhp and on 3rd box, this one is 221bhp ,...just now anyway
LeeG
yeah same prob with my mate golf abs sensor also maf sensors go on them as well.
BAZ2CRAZY
A friend of mine had one.. not for long either. Several sensors were fucking up. Then the gearbox failed.. only running 190? max.Mitch
Scott-EP
Ahh i see that's cool then! It's upto you at the end of the day but i would say sell the Pulsar and get another Starbo but thats just me haha
Raz
i'de stay away from that and stick to the pulsar any day you could make that pulsar piss all over this anyday. it should anyway lol
Liam_D
I like them eventhough they aint Jap, and that one looks really nice and i bet it goes well too. But i'd prefer the Pulsar anyday but i suppose your wanting something more comfortable.
Michel_M
You want a more comfortable car and you're looking at a car with a full exhaust system and coilovers? That doesn't make a lot of sense, only thing I can think of is that the Ibiza will probably have better sound isolation and maybe more options?
Sparky
Nice looking cars, my mate has a red one bloody gutsy things and his is standard!!
AaronW
michel m - doesnt make much sence ...my pulsar has poly engine mounts, lowering springs+shocks with full exhaust. compared to my pulsar, you can have a comfy car with full exhaust and coilovers .
ste91
I hate them, pile of shite. Golf in a party frock.
shaneyb
They are worth more then pulsars surely? Last time I was looking at these, they were £4-6k.
AaronW
your intitled to your opinion ste,..have you got any logical first hand reasons to back your 'pile of shite' comment??high mileage ones go for £2500+
ste91
Nah, just hate the things, and hear quite a few bad things about those 1.8t engines.Either way, if it seems like you're getting it cheap then I can't see the problem with it, you could always sell it on and buy something different with the money.
shaneyb
Tbh I like them, they have an evil look about them and are not common, but then again same goes for pulsars. If your going to rebuild the engine I think you mentioned then who cares about the mileage?
AaronW
thats fair enough ste shaneyb - yeh i agree, and yeh my intention is to rebuild the pulsar if i keep it so wont be at a loss either way.
