Dave L-W Posted May 15, 2010 Share Posted May 15, 2010 Right,Although I live in an area where nothing gets nicked I want to have a car alarm fitted to the starbo because I'm often seeing friends in shite areas of the country and I don't want my car going for a drive on it's own.Where can I get an alarm system from?Rough cost?Can I fit it myself (I am supposed to be a sparky haha) or is it best to have an autoelectrical company do it?if anyone could shed some light on this for me pleasecheers guys n gals Quote Link to post Share on other sites
new blue Posted May 15, 2010 Share Posted May 15, 2010 hi mate i got a cat 1 meta alarm fitted and immobiliser for £175 at home,took couple of hours,on my v,and reasonable toad for gt was £200 most companys will do it for that price and saves a big headache trying yourself because most the wiring is black in colour.hope this helps. nutnut Posted May 21, 2010 Share Posted May 21, 2010 If you get a specialist to fit it you will get a certificate that will help with cheaper insurance.Less headaches too !If you do it yourself the certificate is void.Most auto electricians can fit them but ask them if you get the certificate shamped.
