Car Alarms

Right,

Although I live in an area where nothing gets nicked I want to have a car alarm fitted to the starbo because I'm often seeing friends in shite areas of the country and I don't want my car going for a drive on it's own.

Where can I get an alarm system from?

Rough cost?

Can I fit it myself (I am supposed to be a sparky haha) or is it best to have an autoelectrical company do it?

if anyone could shed some light on this for me please

hi mate i got a cat 1 meta alarm fitted and immobiliser for £175 at home,took couple of hours,on my v,and reasonable toad for gt was £200 most companys will do it for that price and saves a big headache trying yourself because most the wiring is black in colour.hope this helps.

Thanks alot! £200 sounds very fair to me. Did you buy the kit then have it fitted or just take it in and they sorted it all?did it take long?

my mate got an alarm fitted with pager fob and everything for about 180 :harhar:

have a look at falcon alarms on egay i would never use any other alarm again, plus you can just keep adding to it

£200 i think mine cost aswell, its some toad one (dont really know much about it lol) guy came round to my house and fitted it.

im impressed with it to be honest, and was again when he wrote on the form toyota glanza

If you get a specialist to fit it you will get a certificate that will help with cheaper insurance.

Less headaches too !

If you do it yourself the certificate is void.

Most auto electricians can fit them but ask them if you get the certificate shamped.
