looking for some advice, of what others would do, in my shoes.

i have 3 options in my head. with regards to my car/new car.

this is my situation, i work offshore, so will be landing next week some point, and will spend 7 weeks on land, before i go off again, for another 7, and back, and so on.

at the minute, i have quite a list on my license of convictions, but end of this month, i will have only CD30, thats 4 years gone, but most insurance ask 5 years??? and will have 2yrs ncb by august, been driving 8 years this week.

1. keep my car, and put a few grand into performance(as im quite bored with the standard power now, i bought all the stuff for "stage one" last year, then sold it all, at a fair loss lol) and then keep it untill mid next year, and then buy an audi rs4/6( ive wanted one for 3 or 4 years now). this would be cash purchase,

2. sell my car, and buy myself something in the range of the 7k price mark.

3. take out finance on an audi rs4/6 just now, with 5k or so deposit, and sell my car.

please be honest, and dont just say, go for audi there class lalala. i expect it to be good, but ive never owned a car like that, and cant anticipate the running costs, bearing in mind, it will be driven for less than 5 months a year.

cheers

Personally I'd say option 2, Just get a Newer car but somethings that's abit nippy, I couldn't see much point in having a Flash Audi if you don't get to use it much, and cannot see the point personally in spending loads of money on the starlet as you'll never get it back,

But we can just give our opinions, It's your money and your decision at the end of the day no doubt you will be happy with what ever you choose to do :)

I'd go for the first option, buying the Audi with cash. As regards to spending on your GT, would you sell the car as is after the modifications, or would you break it? May lose out on quite a bit if you sell the car whole, or it may not sell for the price you want it to..

no point buying it on finance dude because you'll be paying out for something your not using so waste of money tbh, if your gunna buy anything pay for it all at once

a girl i used to work with, her boyf had an rs4 estate thingy and that was pretty rapid, but he also had a focus st and bmw x5 and stuff at the same time lol, rich bastard

to be honest, if i wer to mod it, i would just sell it on afterwards, i know you loose money when you mod, and that i wouldnt get my money back, and that would be reflected i nthe price, the car already stands me 5g with a new paint job, brakes alround, 4 services in 6km's lol, so i know i will loose money on it, but that dont really bother me too much, as i know thats the game we all play. rather loose it on my car than in the pub and having a beer gut.

I would say stuff your money into the GT for now, so when you are home, you can have a damn good thrash around and enjoy it while it lasts, you don't want to spend so much money on a reasonably sensible car and come back and just drive around. You wanna throw your money into a bit of fun before you can calm down and settle.

Then when it comes to selling, strip the car of its mods and put it back to standard and sell the standard car for a rough price that its worth, and all the mods as second hand. A way of getting a vast majority of your money back.

Just my 2p.

At least the Audi wont depreciate in value much my uncle had a rs4 and it was a machine alright!!

I'd say option 2 although white quads have alot of potential and you'd be more than happy with 180+hp :)
